Dynasty Warriors: Origins Helps Push Koei Tecmo Profit to Record High

This year has evidently been quite successful for Koei Tecmo, as their recently disclosed financial data shows an all-time high in profits.

Essentially, it appears that the company’s homegrown video games have significantly contributed to the impressive growth. Although there was a slight decrease in sales by 1.7% compared to last year, the robust performance of Koei Tecmo’s proprietary titles propelled both profit and revenue to unprecedented levels.

Games like Dynasty Warriors: Origins and Atelier Yumia were successful in terms of both critical acclaim and sales, while modestly budgeted titles such as the remastered Ninja Gaiden 2 Black and Warriors: Abyss seem to have fared quite well.

Last year compared to the previous one, the publisher experienced a significant growth in net profit, amounting to approximately 36.63 billion yen or around $250 million.

Due to their recent achievements, the company is predicting a decrease in earnings for the fiscal year 2026. This might hint at the pattern of book releases they plan for the upcoming year or so.

It’s refreshing to observe Koei Tecmo hitting the mark with their latest offerings – and as a fan, I appreciate their growing dedication to the gaming industry.
