This article contains mention of sexual assault that some readers may find upsetting.
Actress Sarah Seggari, who plays a character on Casualty, has given a clue about potential developments following the events of Rida Amaan’s sexual assault storyline from last week.
In the latest episode, Rida teamed up with surgeon Russell Whitelaw, played by Robert Bathurst, in the operating room. Rida enjoyed this opportunity to carry on honing her skills under the guidance of such an experienced expert.
According to his character description, Whitelaw is a highly skilled surgeon who has been in charge of the operating room for many years, using his exceptional abilities and strong-willed nature.
However, events took a heartbreaking shift when Russell approached Rida from behind during the procedure, and ended up attacking her. This incident left Rida struggling to carry on, ultimately resulting in her departure from the operation.

Regarding the upcoming events for Rida as she gears up to expose Russell, the actress shared with Metro: “Things are about to get even more thrilling. There will be unexpected twists and turns that I believe you won’t anticipate. Filming it was a pleasure.
In these past two years since Rida has been on television, you’ll discover an entirely new aspect of her that hasn’t been shown before. I found it incredibly enjoyable to portray this side of her.
In addition to considering the effect of the plot post-airing, Seggari commented: “It’s estimated that approximately 12.5% of women globally have experienced sexual assault. This statistic has been lingering in my thoughts since then, meaning that roughly one out of every eight women Rida or Sarah might encounter could have gone through something similar. It’s changed the way I perceive things, I suppose.”
A portion of the recently released 12-episode Internal Affairs collection from Casualty is currently being aired every Saturday night. Additionally, it has welcomed Call the Midwife’s Olly Rix for his first appearance in the role of the new clinical lead, Flynn Byron.
In the summary for Internal Affairs, it is noted that Flynn, who has recently returned from military service, takes on the role of the primary consulting physician at Holby City ED within the National Health Service (NHS).
He’s a person driven by a clear goal, determined to bring about meaningful change. Despite encountering obstacles in a rigid, bureaucratic system, and wrestling with the emotional scars of his past and a betrayal that could potentially derail him, he perseveres.
