It appears a player of Rocket League has recently unveiled an apparently unknown game mechanic, ten years following its initial launch in 2015. It’s astonishing to think that Rocket League will celebrate its tenth anniversary this year. At present, no information about a sequel has been shared by Psyonix or Epic Games. Given the ongoing popularity of this decade-old free-to-play game, it’s not surprising that they have yet to announce a sequel, as Rocket League currently seems to be generating significant revenue for both companies.
A strong indication of a vibrant game is an active Reddit community, and Rocket League definitely has one, filled mostly with enthusiasts posting their extraordinary plays. However, among the abundance of highlight reels from the past week, there’s a clip shared by a fan that appears to demonstrate a new mechanic they’ve discovered, which they’ve creatively named, “the little pop-knee” or simply, “la petite cassecouille.
In the video provided, you’ll notice the mechanical object performs a diagonal backflip off the wall and lands back on it. Whether this mechanism works efficiently or not still needs to be determined, however, the video demonstrates its potential effectiveness.
The shittiest new mecanic that will change RLCS forever.

The leading comment on the previous post suggests it’s an interesting idea to remember and would be beneficial to incorporate in your gameplay.
Many comments suggest that while some dedicated Rocket League players might have been unaware of this, many others indicate that this isn’t a completely novel mechanic. In fact, this kind of movement is quite common among advanced Rocket League players. However, employing it in a deceptive manner, as the user does, is something new and innovative.
I, along with several others, have been engaging in this activity. It serves both as a means for recovery or a test, but it’s intriguing to consider using it deceitfully. I can see many being lured into such situations.
Is this a fresh take on an existing mechanic in the game? Well, it’s not completely novel, but it does offer a unique perspective that players may not have considered before, and that speaks volumes about the game’s intricate complexity.
Rocket League can be played for free across multiple platforms: Nintendo Switch, PC, PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox One, Xbox Series S, and Xbox Series X. If you’re looking for more information about Rocket League such as the latest news, rumors, leaks, and speculation, click here.
