After over a decade apart on screen, the original stars of NCIS, Tony DiNozzo and Ziva David, will reunite for their new spinoff series titled NCIS: Tony & Ziva. This exclusive show to Paramount+ is set to debut in the 2025 TV schedule this fall, and just last month, the first sneak peeks were revealed. As they continue to deliver high-octane action, Michael Weatherly and Cote de Pablo’s characters are still working out their dynamic together – much like old times, wouldn’t you agree?
This spinoff is a unique occasion where Tony and Ziva are reunited since their appearance together in the NCIS Season 11 episode “Past, Present, and Future.” Moreover, it offers us an initial glimpse into them raising their daughter Tali, portrayed by Isla Gie. Although they seem to have mastered the art of co-parenting, their romantic relationship remains ambiguous, with Ziva characterizing it as, “On again, perhaps again, somewhat again.” One wonders what could ultimately lead these two to commit to each other permanently?

It turns out that Tali, their daughter, is in grave danger because despite Tony and Ziva hiring protection for her, someone they thought was trustworthy has now targeted her instead. To make matters worse, Tony’s security company was attacked as well. As a result, the main characters are forced to flee Europe and rely on their combined skills in law enforcement and combat to escape this predicament. The previews even show an amusing twist where Ziva must use her charm to persuade others, while it’s Tony who’s doing the heavy lifting – quite a change from their usual roles!

Michael Weatherly is playfully teasing NCIS fans with his recent social media post about a holiday, subtly referencing the filming of Tony and Ziva’s spin-off.
Michael Weatherly and Cote de Pablo’s fellow cast members in the spinoff of NCIS titled Tony & Ziva include Amita Suman, Maximilian Osinski, Julian Ovenden, Nassima Benchicou, Lara Rossi, Terence Maynard, and James D’Arcy. John McNamara is overseeing the show as its showrunner and serves alongside Weatherly, de Pablo, Laurie Lieser, Christina Strain, Shelley Meals, and Mairzee Almas as executive producers. The spinoff has been planned as a standalone story of mystery and espionage spread across 10 episodes, according to McNamara’s description. As for the possibility of Season 2, it remains uncertain if the limited series proves successful; however, at least fans of NCIS can anticipate the return of Tiva, their beloved duo, in just a few months.
The air date for NCIS: Tony & Ziva is yet to be determined, but we’ll share the news as soon as it becomes available, along with our ongoing updates about the spinoff.
