Ironheart Trailer Reveals Marvel’s Next Big Disney+ Series

After a relatively short wait, Marvel has unveiled the first teaser for “Ironheart”. Normally, Marvel releases trailers well in advance of a project, but this time the gap between the trailer release and the show’s premiere on Disney+ is less than a month. Despite the quick turnaround, “Ironheart” is set to debut on June 24th, offering a glimpse into what viewers can expect from the Dominique Thorne production.

The unexpected revelation from the Ironheart trailer is our first official glimpse of Anthony Ramos portraying Parker Robbins, better known as The Hood. In this upcoming series, it appears that he will serve as the primary antagonist, presenting a challenge for Riri Williams, who is technology-focused, against an otherworldly adversary. In the source material, The Hood acquires mystical abilities after coming into possession of a haunted cloak. The clash between science and magic is anticipated, with Ironheart also making efforts to solidify her heroic status.

In the year 2022, Dominique Thorne first appeared in the Marvel Cinematic Universe, portraying the character Riri Williams in “Black Panther: Wakanda Forever.” This character was originally conceived by Brian Michael Bendis and Mike Deodato Jr. Riri is a student at MIT who manufactures her own Iron Man suit in her college dormitory. Later, she encounters Tony Stark, who serves as a mentor to Riri. After assuming the role of Iron Man, Riri eventually adopts an identity of her own as Ironheart.

This year, “Ironheart” becomes the second live-action Marvel series to debut on Disney+, preceded by “Daredevil: Born Again.” Later in the year, we’ll also get to watch “Wonder Man,” featuring Yahya Abdul-Mateen II as Simon Williams/Wonder Man. Since “Ironheart” was developed prior to Marvel Studios reducing their production volume, it will be intriguing to observe both critic and audience reactions towards the show.

In the upcoming series, Ironheart, we’ve seen various types of armor that Riri Williams will don. As a character who initially reverse-engineered her own Iron Man suit in her MIT dorm room, Riri has gone through multiple designs and modifications to perfect her armor. Initially, she opted for a sleeker version resembling Iron Man’s, but with a departure from the classic red-and-gold color scheme towards something more personal. Interestingly, the armors we’ve seen in Black Panther: Wakanda Forever have maintained a bulkier frame, suggesting some room for future changes and improvements.

Ironheart premieres with a three-episode premiere June 24th on Disney+.
