GSC Game World has announced that they will release a native PlayStation 5 version of the S.T.A.L.K.E.R. Trilogy package they released last year for PS4. If you already own the game, you’ll receive an upgrade for free. The release date is set for May 20th, 2025.
The video above demonstrates the improved PS5 version, but it’s worth noting that it will introduce separate gameplay settings for both standard PS5 and PS5 Pro models.
- Quality Mode
- Native 4K resolution at 30FPS
- Balanced Mode
- Upscaled 4K resolution at 40FPS
- Performance Mode
- Upscaled 4K resolution at 60FPS
- Ultra Performance
- Upscaled 2K resolution at 120FPS
As a gamer eagerly awaiting PS5, I’m thrilled to know that we’ll have keyboard and mouse support, which feels like bringing the PC gaming experience into my console world. Plus, there’s mod.io for those who love tweaking games to their liking.
Visually, the gameplay is set to be breathtaking with improved lighting effects featuring godrays, sharper textures, and detailed 3K models for Non-Player Characters (NPCs). The water shaders are also advanced, promising a more realistic in-game environment.
And if that wasn’t enough, the cutscenes are now rendered in stunning 4K resolution, while the field of view has been updated to enhance visibility during combat, making those intense moments even more immersive!

For the very first time, the trilogy that is collectively known as The Zone Trilogy, which is now several years old, made its debut on consoles with Shadow of Chornobyl, Clear Sky, and Call of Prypiat. This trio has since been succeeded by STALKER 2: Heart of Chornobyl. At the moment, it can be played on Xbox Series X|S and PC, but it was initially leaked as a timed exclusive.
