Well, well, well, looks like Ripple is making waves in the Middle East. The blockchain payments company is now all buddy-buddy with Zand Bank and Mamo, the latest clients to embrace Ripple Payments under a shiny new license from Dubai. Who would’ve thought, right? Blockchains in the desert! 🌵
Back in March 2025, Ripple did something that made every fintech fan sit up: they became the first blockchain-based payments company to snag a license from the Dubai Financial Services Authority (DFSA). Now with their approval in hand, Ripple’s ready to team up with local partners to speed up those cross-border payments, making them as quick as a cheetah on an espresso binge.
“Ripple Payments momentum is building in the UAE. 🇦🇪
After securing our DFSA license, Zand Bank and @MamoPay are now live on Ripple Payments—bringing always-on, blockchain-powered cross-border payments to one of the world’s top remittance hubs.”

So, what does this fancy new license really do? It lets Ripple handle the entire payment process for clients. Yup, from the moment the money leaves your pocket to when it lands in some far-off corner of the globe—it’s a smooth ride. Fast, reliable, and just a tad magical, like a bank transfer but with none of the usual waiting around and gnashing of teeth.
Ripple Payments isn’t just a shiny buzzword—oh no. It’s a full-on blockchain-powered, global money-moving machine. With digital assets, blockchain tech, and a slew of payout partners, Ripple’s got it all covered. Fast, transparent, and as reliable as your grandmother’s advice. It’s the perfect solution for banks, fintechs, and crypto firms who are sick of the old ways of making payments.
Reece Merrick, the bigwig at Ripple, put it best: “Getting our DFSA license means we can tackle the pain points of traditional cross-border payments—high fees, slow settlements, and that lack of transparency. Now, we’re here to fix all that in one of the world’s busiest payment hubs.” Oh, and the cherry on top? Ripple’s new partnerships with Zand Bank and Mamo show that the license is doing exactly what it was meant to do—giving Ripple a big ol’ business boost.
Speaking of Ripple’s growing popularity in the Middle East—let’s just say things are heating up. According to Ripple’s 2025 New Value Report, a whopping 64% of finance leaders in the region are itching for faster payments. Let’s hope they’re not too eager for a nap after that ride!
As for Zand Bank, they’re not exactly just another run-of-the-mill financial institution. With a full banking license in the UAE, they’re all about building digital-first products. Chirag Sampat, head honcho at Zand Bank, even mentioned that their collaboration with Ripple shows their commitment to “empowering global payment solutions through blockchain technology.” Plus, they’re prepping to launch an AED-backed stablecoin. Talk about futuristic!
Mamo, the fintech startup on the rise, is also jumping on the blockchain bandwagon. Imad Gharazeddine, the CEO and co-founder of Mamo, couldn’t be happier with the partnership: “This is a huge step forward. Now we can offer faster, more reliable cross-border payments. No more waiting for the ‘next day’ to get your money!”
Ripple’s global payments network now spans 90+ markets, and guess what? They’ve processed over $70 billion in volume. Not too shabby, huh? With over 60 regulatory licenses under its belt, Ripple’s now strutting its stuff in markets like the U.S., Brazil, Mexico, Australia, Switzerland, and, of course, Dubai.
