While The Housemaid is doing well in theaters, many viewers may remember Amanda Seyfried in another steamy thriller. Fifteen years ago, she starred alongside Liam Neeson and Julianne Moore in a film that will be available to stream for free starting February 1st.
If you enjoyed The Housemaid and are waiting for it to be available on demand or through streaming, Chloe (from 2009) might be a good option in the meantime. It’s arriving on Tubi on February 1, 2026. Though Chloe received negative reviews and didn’t perform well in theaters – costing around $14 million to make but only earning $13.6 million – free streaming platforms often give movies a second look. This could be a chance to decide for yourself if the film is as bad as people remember, or if it was unfairly criticized when it first came out. Here’s what the movie is about:
Catherine and David Stewart (played by Julianne Moore and Liam Neeson) appear to have a perfect life in Toronto, but their marriage is troubled. Catherine worries David, a music professor, is having an affair with one of his students. She decides to test him by hiring a woman named Chloe (Amanda Seyfried) to try and seduce him, but things quickly become complicated when Chloe reveals what happens between them.
The film Chloe didn’t get much notice when it first came out, but many movies from the 2000s are finding new audiences with viewers who weren’t old enough to see them then. With Amanda Seyfried currently starring in a popular movie, Chloe might gain renewed attention next month.
‘Chloe’ Is a Divisive Movie If You Expect Too Much

Sony Pictures
Like many thrillers, “Chloe” relies on familiar plot devices. It draws clear inspiration from films like “Fatal Attraction” and other suspenseful psychological dramas from the late 80s. With strong performances from Liam Neeson, Julianne Moore, and Amanda Seyfried, it had the potential to be a very enjoyable film.
The film’s artistic and sensual style didn’t connect with most viewers, as reflected in its 38% rating on Rotten Tomatoes. However, critics particularly praised Amanda Seyfried’s captivating and believable performance. Liam Neeson and Julianne Moore also received positive attention for making the somewhat simplistic storyline more compelling. As Metro’s Anna Smith put it, the film is a thoroughly enjoyable, albeit slightly trashy, treat.
