Borderlands 4 on Nintendo Switch 2 Listed for February 27th Release by Portuguese Retailer

Before facing criticism for how poorly it ran on PCs, Gearbox Entertainment postponed Borderlands 4 on the Nintendo Switch 2 to guarantee players had a great experience. A new release date might be coming soon, as a Portuguese store, GamingReplay, has listed it for February 27th.

So, pre-orders are up! And it looks like the Switch 2 version will probably come on a game card, like a lot of games do. Nintendo hasn’t officially said anything yet, but if this is real, I’m guessing we’ll hear a proper release date really soon.

Borderlands 4 is now available on Xbox Series X/S, PlayStation 5, and PC. The game is set on the planet Kairos, which is controlled by The Timekeeper and his followers. Players take on the roles of Vault Hunters, working with the Crimson Resistance to unite the people of Kairos and fight against the oppressive regime.

Borderlands 4 features the most detailed character customization options yet, with expansive Skill Trees. The game world is also more connected than in previous installments, minimizing loading screens. Although critics generally liked the game—you can find our review here—sales haven’t been as strong as Take-Two Interactive had hoped.

Since launch, Gearbox has continued to update the game and even gave away the first Bounty Pack, How Rush Saved Mercenary Day, to everyone. The first paid expansion, Mad Ellie and the Vault of the Damned, will add a new playable character, C4SH, sometime in the first three months of this year.
