Even with cold weather and snow in many parts of the world, Niantic continues to host events for Pokemon Go to encourage players to go outside. The game is currently in its Precious Paths season, which has already introduced some new Pokemon and Shiny versions. Now, players are getting ready to find Shiny Fidough, which is being added to the game for the first time during the Precious Pals event starting January 20th.

The Precious Pals event in Pokémon Go starts January 20th at 10 AM local time and runs until January 25th at 8 PM local time. The big news is the addition of Shiny Fidough, giving players a chance to catch this rare, adorable Pokémon! But that’s not all – Precious Pals also offers increased chances of finding Shiny Goldeen and makes it easier to evolve certain Pokémon. Plus, there are ways to improve your odds of encountering a Shiny Fidough. Here’s a closer look at everything you need to know.

How to Get Shiny Fidough in Pokemon Go

Starting January 20th, you can find Shiny Fidough in Pokemon Go! It will appear in the wild and be available in 2 KM Eggs for a limited time. You can also earn extra encounters with Fidough by completing the event’s collection challenges, increasing your chances of finding a Shiny one.

Okay, so Fidough is going to be showing up a lot more often in the wild from January 20th to the 25th. Just a heads-up though, it won’t be any easier to find a Shiny one naturally. But don’t worry, there are still a few things I can do to boost my chances of finding that super rare, sparkly Fidough!

During the Precious Pals event, it will be easier to hatch a Shiny Fidough from 2 KM eggs. To increase your chances, collect lots of eggs by spinning PokeStops!

Precious Pals Event Evolution Requirement Changes for Eevee, Pancham, and Pawmo

It’s a great time to evolve some of the harder-to-evolve Pokémon in Pokémon Go! During the Precious Pals event, three specific Pokémon will have temporarily simplified evolution requirements. These easier requirements will be available from January 20th to January 25th.

  • Eevee to Sylveon – Earn 20 hearts with Eevee as your buddy (normally 70)
  • Pancham to Pangoro – Catch 10 Dark-type Pokemon with Pancham as your buddy (normally 32)
  • Pawmo to Pawmot – Explore 5 KM with Pawmo as your buddy (normally 25)

It’ll be simpler to evolve certain Pokémon during this event, like Eevee, Pancham, and Pawmo. Consider making one your buddy and starting the evolution process now!

Featured Wild Spawns & 2 KM Eggs for Pokemon Go Precious Pals

This event will feature increased chances of finding many Shiny Pokemon, including a first-ever appearance of Shiny Fidough! Pokemon appearing in the wild and hatching from 2 KM eggs all have the potential to be Shiny. Here’s a list of the Pokemon that will appear more frequently during the event:

  • Espurr
  • Fidough
  • Golden (boosted Shiny odds)
  • Wimpod
  • Zorua

Besides Pokémon appearing in the wild, the Pokémon available from 2 KM Eggs will be changing temporarily to include these species:

  • Fidough (boosted Shiny odds)
  • Goldeen
  • Happiny
  • Riolu
  • Togepi

Besides catching these Pokémon in the wild or by hatching eggs, you’ll also be able to find special event Pokémon by completing Field Research tasks. If you’re hoping to get the shiny versions of these Pokémon, now is the perfect time to play Pokémon Go.
