Silent Witness season 29 start date confirmed by BBC with first look at major change for series

Warning: Silent Witness season 28 spoilers ahead.

The BBC announced the premiere date for season 29 of Silent Witness and shared a sneak peek at the show’s new location with fans.

The latest series of the show, starring Emilia Fox as Dr. Nikki Alexander and David Caves as Jack, returns on Monday, February 2nd. You can watch it on BBC One and BBC iPlayer as they investigate a series of challenging new cases.

Season 29 is now filmed in Birmingham instead of London, and new photos show the cast working in their new location.

Nikki and Jack will be back for another series alongside familiar faces Harriet, played by Maggie Steed, and Kit, played by Fran Mills. The new season will also feature several guest stars, including Lydia Wilson, Chris Reilly, Ben Batt, Vinette Robinson, and Selin Hizli.

The show will also feature guest appearances by Gerard Kearns (known for Waiting For The Out), Adam Rayner (Superman and Lois), Phaldut Sharma (EastEnders), Dino Fetscher (Fool Me Once), Cat Simmons (The Bill, Family Affairs), Chris Coghill (Slow Horses), and Mollie Winnard (All Creatures Great and Small).

The twenty-eighth season of Silent Witness concluded in February, culminating in the long-awaited wedding of Nikki and Jack.

Last season, Nikki agreed to establish a state-of-the-art forensic center at Birmingham General Hospital, with the condition that Harriet Maven (Maggie Steed) continue to lead it.

Since Harriet is in the initial image, it appears the Home Office has agreed to Nikki’s conditions.

Silent Witness seasons 1-28 are available to stream now on BBC iPlayer.
