Now that Disney+’s adaptation of ‘Percy Jackson and the Olympians’ has finished its ‘Sea of Monsters’ story, everyone is looking forward to the next installment.
This story, inspired by Rick Riordan’s popular books, follows young Percy Jackson (Walker Scobell) as he discovers his connection to the world of Greek mythology and learns he’s a demigod.
The show has become incredibly popular on Disney+, so it’s not surprising they’re already making a third season – and it’s further along in development than many people realize!
With the show’s young stars gaining popularity and fans excited for each new book adaptation, the team working on Percy Jackson and the Olympians is working quickly to release more episodes.
Here’s what we know so far about Percy Jackson season 3 on Disney+.
Percy Jackson and the Olympians season 3 release date speculation

Disney Plus hasn’t announced a release date for season 3 of Percy Jackson and the Olympians, but fans might not have to wait as long as they did for season 2.
Although there was a two-year wait between the first and second seasons, Disney Plus quickly renewed the show, allowing filming for the third season to begin in summer 2025. As of January 2026, filming is almost finished.
Disney+ hopes to release the third season of Percy Jackson sooner than expected, possibly within the next 18 months. However, this is just an estimate, and we’ll share official release date information as soon as it becomes available.
Author Rick Riordan expressed his excitement about continuing the Percy Jackson story on Disney+. He announced that the upcoming third season will explore new storylines and introduce beloved characters like the Hunters of Artemis and Nico di Angelo to the screen for the very first time.
Disney’s dedication is clear, and it shows just how much fans love the show. Thank you to all our fans around the world!

Percy Jackson and the Olympians season 3 plot speculation: What could happen next?

Season 3 of Percy Jackson and the Olympians will cover ‘The Titan’s Curse,’ the third book in the series. The story follows Percy and his friends as they embark on a dangerous rescue mission.
According to Penguin Books, the story centers around a missing goddess, a looming war between the Greek gods and the Titans, and a dangerous creature that threatens to obliterate Mount Olympus.
Percy’s facing a tough challenge and has teamed up with two other powerful demigods to tackle it. There’s a troubling prophecy hanging over them, suggesting not everyone will make it. But when you’re the child of a Greek god, danger just comes with the territory, doesn’t it?
I’m so excited for the next season of Percy Jackson! Walker Scobell, who plays Percy, has said they’re really sticking close to the books, which is a huge relief. As a fan, it’s awesome to know they’re respecting the original story.
According to recent comments, the creator believes season 3 is the most faithful adaptation of the source material so far. They feel the book’s story naturally fits into the eight-episode format, and they’re very pleased with how it’s turned out.
