Inside No. 9 favourite tipped to be in talks for Celebrity Traitors season 2

Inside No. 9 star Steve Pemberton is reportedly in talks for Celebrity Traitors season 2.

The actor and comedian reportedly loves the BBC show and producers are hoping he’ll be as successful with audiences as Jonathan Ross was in the previous season.

According to a source, bringing Steve on board would give the show a well-known personality who is fascinated by how it all works.

Jonathan Ross previously hosted this role last year. He was a dedicated fan of the show and became a prominent figure within it.

Steve, like me, is a highly skilled actor known for convincingly playing different roles, which would make him a strong and challenging competitor on the show.

“That’s why the executives view him as a sought-after candidate.”

Pemberton first became well-known as part of the comedy group The League of Gentlemen, with Reece Shearsmith, Mark Gatiss, and Jeremy Dyson. The group started by performing live on stage before achieving wider recognition with their popular TV series, also called The League of Gentlemen, which debuted in 1999.

Pemberton later collaborated with Shearsmith, both writing and acting together in the horror comedy Psychoville and the anthology series Inside No. 9.

He’s also well-known for playing Mick Garvey in the ITV comedy Benidorm and for a significant role in the first season of Happy Valley.

Alison Hammond, Ruth Jones, Amanda Holden, and Danny Dyer are also rumored to be joining this year’s show.

Danny Dyer, famous for playing Mick Carter on EastEnders, initially declined a role in the first season of the show. However, after watching it, he decided he wanted to be involved, according to The Sun.

The second season of Celebrity Traitors will air on BBC One later this year. You can watch the first season now on iPlayer. For daily TV recommendations and features, including updates on The Traitors, download the TopMob: What to Watch app and add the show to your watchlist.
