Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth and Part 3’s Switch 2 Port Development Has Already Started

With the upcoming release of Final Fantasy 7 Remake Intergrade on the new Nintendo Switch 2, the director of Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth has announced that they’ve already begun working on bringing the second game in the trilogy to the console. Naoki Hamaguchi shared in a Nintendo interview that, while details are limited at this time, development is underway to port both Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth and the currently untitled third game to the Switch 2.

While details are limited, Square Enix confirmed they are developing versions of both Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth and the currently unreleased Final Fantasy 7 Remake Part 3 for the upcoming Nintendo Switch 2. According to producer Yoshinori Hamaguchi, development for the Switch 2 versions is happening at the same time as work on other platforms.

He promised fans the Switch 2 versions of the games will play exactly like the versions on other consoles. He wants to make sure players aren’t confused about which version is best.

Today marks the release of Final Fantasy 7 Remake Intergrade on Nintendo Switch and Xbox Series X/S, and with it come some new features designed to make the game easier.
