Sony Is Still Patching Trophies into Retro PS Plus Premium Games

Good news for fans of older games like SoulCalibur 3: Sony is still adding Trophy support to retro titles available through its PS Plus Premium subscription.

So, I was totally surprised to see Thrillville: Off the Rails – the sequel to that rollercoaster building game from 2007, originally on the PSP – suddenly show up on PlayStation Network! Frontier Developments, the folks who made it, have been working on getting their older games working on modern platforms, and this one just quietly appeared with some trophies attached. It was a really cool surprise for us fans!

As a PlayStation fan, I’ve noticed something interesting: whenever older games get re-released digitally on the PS Store, Sony usually lets developers skip adding Trophies. It seems they prioritize getting the games available, even if it means leaving out that achievement/trophy hunting aspect for some re-releases.

Dev Implicit Conversions often revisits older game versions to fix issues and add improvements. They recently added Trophy support to the original Thrillville on PlayStation 5 and 4, and now they’re doing the same for the sequel.

Getting the Platinum Trophy shouldn’t be too difficult. Just complete all the levels and engage with the game’s features – things like hiring a large staff (100 people) or building a park worth at least $50,000 – and you’ll be well on your way.

This game is actually quite enjoyable, so if you have PlayStation Plus Premium and are looking for something different to play, we suggest trying it out – especially since a Platinum trophy has been recently added!
