Daniel Roseberry wants you to steal a glance at his latest collection. It may just look familiar.
Before his show at Paris Haute Couture Week on January 26th, the designer for Schiaparelli announced that his new jewelry collection will be inspired by and recreate the valuable diamonds that were stolen from the Louvre Museum last October.
Daniel, 41, recently told Vanity Fair that the idea for his work came to him while walking home from the office shortly after the Louvre museum was robbed. He thought it would be interesting to recreate the stolen jewels.
On October 19th, four masked robbers pulled off a daring heist at the Louvre museum, stealing nine pieces of jewelry worth approximately $102 million. The stolen items, including necklaces, tiaras, and brooches, have not been found. The entire robbery took just seven minutes, and thankfully, no museum staff were hurt.
Oh my gosh, can you believe it? They recovered some of Napoleon and Marie Louise’s actual jewelry! Like, the necklace and earrings Napoleon gave to Marie Louise himself! It’s just… breathtaking. And even better, they found a sapphire necklace that belonged to Hortense, Napoleon’s stepdaughter! I’m seriously obsessed with everything related to them, and to think I’m reading about their personal belongings… it’s a dream come true!
Two crowns belonging to Empress Eugénie, wife of Napoleon III in the 1800s, were also taken. Daniel, who became the creative director of Maison Schiaparelli in 2019, redesigned one of the tiaras to be even more elaborate, adding a three-dimensional effect for the collection.
The Spring/Summer 2026 collection was inspired by exploring two key ideas.

When designing the fashion line, Daniel wondered how anger could be expressed as something beautiful. He also considered where joy comes from and how it might be visually represented.
He added, “Anger is so much of it, but I wanted to turn it into something inspiring.”
And for Daniel, taking risks is just the name of the game.
He felt it was time to really push the boundaries and create something bold. After a few seasons of being very careful and restrained, he wanted to be more flamboyant and simply enjoy the creative process.
