Spider-Man: Brand New Day Update Makes MCU Movie Even More Dangerous

The newest information about the upcoming Marvel Studios Spider-Man: Brand New Day movie suggests Tom Holland’s Spider-Man will face significant challenges in the next Marvel Cinematic Universe film.

Brand New Day update suggests Spider-Man will be kept busy in the MCU movie

Spider-Man fans are anticipating the fourth Marvel Cinematic Universe film to feature a mix of familiar and new faces, including Hulk (Mark Ruffalo), Punisher (Jon Bernthal), and Tombstone (Marvin Jones III). According to insider Daniel Richtman, the movie, reportedly titled ‘Brand New Day,’ will actually introduce even more characters than we currently know about.

As a huge Spider-Man fan, I was thrilled to hear from Richtman over the weekend – apparently, Brand New Day has even more villains planned than we’ve heard about so far! We’ve been seeing rumors about characters like Tarantula, Boomerang, Ramrod, and The Hand potentially showing up, but nothing’s been officially confirmed yet. From what I understand, these guys will likely have smaller parts in the movie compared to bigger threats like Tombstone and Michael Mando’s Scorpion. It sounds like they’re really packing this film with Spidey’s rogues gallery!

According to recent updates from Richtman, the upcoming Marvel Cinematic Universe film still has a few character reveals left. New actors Liza Colón-Zayas and Tramell Tillman might be playing some of these surprise roles. While details are still secret, Sadie Sink is reportedly playing Jean Grey, and the Punisher appears to be protecting her from the organization known as Damage Control.

We don’t know yet which villains will show up in the new Spider-Man movie, but many fans are hoping to see Kingpin and Mister Negative. While Kingpin is currently the Mayor of New York City in the Spider-Man universe, he likely won’t play a major role in the sequel, possibly only appearing briefly after the credits.

The next Spider-Man movie, ‘Brand New Day,’ will take place after the events of ‘No Way Home,’ where everyone forgot Peter Parker’s identity. Though details are still secret, the film is expected to be a more realistic story compared to the multi-universe action of ‘No Way Home’.

Destin Daniel Cretton is directing the next Spider-Man movie, currently set to release on July 31, 2026, as part of the Marvel Cinematic Universe’s Phase 6.
