Travis Kelce Exits 2026 Pro Bowl as His Replacement Is Announced

Travis Kelce is sticking to the sidelines for now. 

Just under a month after the Kansas City Chiefs finished their regular season with a game against the Las Vegas Raiders, their tight end has decided not to participate in the 2026 Pro Bowl, which is scheduled for February 3rd.

The Buffalo Bills’ Dalton Kincaid will take Travis’ place in the game, the Bills announced on January 26th. Participating in the game isn’t mandatory for NFL players, so Travis’ withdrawal isn’t unusual.

TopMob News has contacted Travis’s representative for a statement about his change of plans, but they haven’t received a response yet.

After a tough season for the Chiefs, where quarterback Patrick Mahomes suffered a torn ACL in December, Travis admitted it would be challenging to get back on the field.

Travis said on the January 7th episode of New Heights that it’s difficult to end his career this way, considering how much he’s achieved and the high expectations he’s set for himself. He plans to take a few weeks, maybe a month, to relax and decide what’s next for him in football.

Despite everything, the 36-year-old, who proposed to Taylor Swift in August 2025, said he’d definitely be open to returning if he felt strong and capable. He’d do it again “in a heartbeat.”

Recently, Travis has been concentrating on his personal life and other work projects. He and his brother, Jason Kelce, revealed earlier this month that they’re publishing a book in June. It’s based on their podcast, New Heights, and is called No Dumb Questions: And All of Our Dumbest Answers.

Travis and Jason recently shared that it still feels surreal to be published authors. In a statement on January 14th, they said that when they began the ‘No Dumb Questions’ segment on their New Heights show, they never imagined it would turn into a book people could have in their homes.

As the brothers put it, “We’re stoked the 92%ers can take home a little piece of the podcast.”

Travis has another big event coming up: his wedding to Taylor! They’ve been pretty private about the details since getting engaged, but Travis has said that planning the wedding will happen after football season ends.

While promoting her book, The Life of a Showgirl, in October, Taylor was already starting to develop some new ideas.

Taylor shared on The Graham Norton Show that she’s really looking forward to wedding planning. She believes weddings are only stressful when there’s a tight guest list and difficult decisions about who to invite.

Indeed, Taylor admitted everyone she knows is likely to make the cut, teasing, “It’s gonna be fun.”

It’s hard to imagine Taylor Swift and Travis Kelce having a wedding on a date that doesn’t hold special significance, especially for Taylor.

Travis’s plans after his current NFL contract ends in 2025 will influence when they set their wedding date. If he continues playing football, they’ll plan the wedding during the off-season, sometime between February after the Super Bowl and the start of training camp in July.

Okay, so everyone’s talking about whether Travis is actually going to retire after 13 seasons – seriously, 13?! – and if he does, it would be amazing because he’d be free to marry Taylor! And October would be perfect, it’s her favorite month! Taylor Swift is famous for her close friendships with many celebrities, but she revealed in October 2025 that she hadn’t started planning her bachelorette party yet.

She shared on U.K.’s Heart Breakfast that people might assume she always dreamed of her wedding, but she actually never gave it much thought until she met her partner.

It will be interesting to see which of Travis Kelce’s Kansas City Chiefs teammates are invited, but he was a groomsman at Patrick Mahomes and Brittany Mahomes’ wedding in 2022, so we know at least one teammate—and coach Andy Reid—will be there. Plus, he’s maintained a close group of friends since his high school days in Cleveland Heights, so his bachelor party—likely filled with golf and drinks—is going to be a lot of fun.

Despite recent reports about a disagreement during Blake Lively’s legal issues, Blake Lively and Ryan Reynolds are still considered close friends as well.

Also, Taylor is already a godmother to Blake and Ryan’s daughters, so she’s familiar with the role and could be a great flower girl choice.

It’s easy to imagine a friend or family member becoming ordained to lead the wedding ceremony, but we don’t expect Flavor Flav to be the one doing it.

On the September 17th episode of his podcast, New Heights, Travis shared his preference for live music, stating, “I think we’re just live music kind of people.”

But Taylor joked it “would be hard to keep” Ed Sheeran from performing at her wedding. 

She explained in an October 2025 interview with Hits Radio that Ed Sheeran is a natural performer. ‘If there’s a stage, Ed knows he’ll be on it,’ she said. ‘He understands what his audience wants and loves delivering for them.’

Taylor may love Travis so much she’d marry him with paper rings, but that won’t be the case.

Taylor Swift explained on The Graham Norton Show in October that she preferred not to deal with the pressure of deciding who to exclude from her guest list. She said making those cuts would force her to carefully consider and judge her relationships with people.

And, she added, “I’m not gonna do that.”

Comedian Nikki Glaser, a self-proclaimed fan of Taylor Swift, believes a large wedding is on the horizon. She told TopMob News at the 2025 MTV Video Music Awards, “Everything has been building up to this moment.”

The comedian pointed out that because Taylor Swift is constantly in the spotlight – essentially treated like a bride every day – her wedding will probably be kept very private.

Nikki said she knows the person just wants to share the celebration with everyone she loves, and she has a large circle of friends and family. She jokingly predicted that someone will likely try to spoil the day by taking disruptive photos from a helicopter overhead.

As soon as the wedding is over and the couple drives away, Taylor will definitely start sharing photos and videos from her wedding with her fans.
