Marvel Officially Reveals 8 Avengers: Doomsday Superhero Costumes

While the next big Marvel movie, Avengers: Doomsday, isn’t out for a while, Marvel has already shown off the new costumes for eight of the heroes. It’s common for returning heroes in Marvel films to get costume updates – this highlights their character development and also creates opportunities for new merchandise. Here’s a look at the revealed costumes so far.

To promote Avengers: Doomsday, Marvel had a unique marketing strategy. Each week, they released a new trailer in cinemas, spotlighting a different team of heroes. The trailers featured Steve Rogers first, followed by Thor, the X-Men, the Wakandans, and the Fantastic Four. Interestingly, Steve Rogers isn’t shown in costume in his own trailer – the first time we see him in costume is actually during Thor’s trailer.

8) Thor

The new trailer for Thor shows him praying in the woods, which is a surprisingly down-to-earth scene compared to his previous movie, Thor: Love and Thunder. We learn he’s praying for his adopted daughter, Love, who he met in that film.

The character’s more realistic look is matched by a new suit. It’s a sleeveless, dark blue armor with a red cape attached. The armor is decorated with four gold circles and two gold pins that hold the cape in place. He also wears cuffs on both arms, and continues to wield Stormbreaker, the axe he first used in Avengers: Infinity War.

7) Professor X

The latest trailer highlights the X-Men, and appears to show a scene between Charles Xavier and Magneto at the X-Mansion. The mansion is largely in shadow, making details of Professor X’s outfit difficult to see. He’s wearing a dark grey, zip-up jacket that looks more practical than his usual attire, with lots of zippers and pockets. The jacket also features a red and black circular emblem with an “X” on his chest.

6) Magneto

The X-Men trailer features Magneto alongside Charles Xavier, offering a glimpse of his new costume. He has significantly longer hair and a full, white beard, giving him a rougher, more unkempt appearance. He’s wearing a dark grey robe over a red shirt, creating a more relaxed look compared to Xavier.

5) Cyclops

The trailer concludes with Cyclops, the X-Men’s leader, unleashing a powerful optic blast. Giant Sentinels march in the background as he attacks. His costume appears to be a throwback to his popular design from the 1990s – a blue suit with yellow accents, belts, and straps. It’s difficult to make out, but he doesn’t seem to be wearing his signature visor during the shot.

4) Shuri

The latest trailer for Avengers: Doomsday highlights Wakanda and the Fantastic Four. It shows Shuri and M’baku noticing the Fantastic Four’s arrival in Wakanda and going to greet them. At the same time, we see Namor ruling as king in his underwater kingdom.

The trailer opens with a glimpse of Shuri, initially shown from behind. Later, we get a better look at her suit, which appears very similar to the one she wore in Black Panther: Wakanda Forever. The main difference is the addition of teal accents, leading some viewers to believe she’s formed an alliance with Namor.

3) Namor

Okay, so I was checking out the Avengers: Doomsday trailer, and Namor’s in it! He’s sitting on his throne, looking pretty regal. We don’t get a full view of his outfit, just from the shoulders up, but I noticed he’s rocking a new green cape with this huge, dramatic collar over his usual necklaces. He’s also holding a gold staff, which is cool – not sure if it’s just a prop or something he actually fights with, though. Definitely a different look for him!

2) M’baku

In the trailer, M’baku walks with Shuri, but his outfit is a striking change from hers. Now that he’s the King of Wakanda, his costume is much more elaborate and royal. He’s wearing complete armor, but it’s not just for fighting—it’s decorated with frills and teal accents. A large, flowing cape billows behind him as he walks through Wakanda.

1) The Thing

The last superhero shown in the Avengers: Doomsday trailers is Ben Grimm, also known as The Thing. He encounters the people of Wakanda as they arrive, potentially marking their first meeting. Interestingly, The Thing doesn’t get a new outfit; he wears the same sweater jumpsuit he had in The Fantastic 4: First Steps.
