Masashi Kishimoto’s Naruto stands out with its creative and unique power system. The series remains popular worldwide due to its compelling story, memorable characters, and exciting battles. It first appeared in Shueisha’s Weekly Shonen Jump magazine in 1999 and quickly became a massive success. The anime adaptation, produced by Studio Pierrot in 2002, further boosted its popularity, turning it into a global phenomenon. The original anime ran until 2007, and was then followed by a continuation called Naruto: Shippuuden, which picks up the story after a two-and-a-half-year time jump.

This fighting system lets characters develop unique combat styles built on fundamental techniques called jutsu. While many types of jutsu exist, ninjutsu and taijutsu are the most frequently used. Genjutsu is rarer, mastered by only a few. Beyond these common techniques, the series features incredibly powerful, but dangerous, abilities considered forbidden due to the harm they can inflict on both the user and their opponents.

5) Summoning Jutsu: Reanimation

This incredibly dangerous and forbidden technique involves manipulating the spirits of the dead, effectively turning them into controllable puppets. It allows a ninja to temporarily bring back a deceased person, restoring them to how they were at the moment of their death, by linking their soul to a living host. Originally created by the Second Hokage, Tobirama Senju, it was quickly banned due to its dark nature. The technique dramatically changed the Fourth Great Shinobi War when Kabuto used it to resurrect a vast army of fallen shinobi, including Orochimaru and all the previous Hokage.

4) Rinne Tensei

Only those with the Rinnegan possess the ability to truly revive the dead. While the Reanimation Jutsu can temporarily restore spirits under specific circumstances, Rinne Tensei can bring back an unlimited number of people, but at the cost of the user’s life. During the attack on the Leaf Village, Nagato Uzumaki caused many deaths, but he used his massive chakra to revive everyone before he died.

3) Indra’s Arrow

Indra’s Arrow is widely considered Sasuke’s strongest attack. It involves his Susanoo creating a massive, lightning-charged bow and arrow. To power this incredibly powerful technique, Sasuke combined his Susanoo with chakra absorbed from all nine tailed beasts. Despite his lightning attacks generally being weaker than wind attacks, Sasuke was able to counter Naruto’s incredibly powerful Six Paths: Ultra-Big Ball Rasenshuriken using this Jutsu.

This special ability belongs only to the main character, who became incredibly strong during the Fourth Great Ninja War. While in Six Paths Sage Mode and with the help of his Kurama avatar, he can create two enormous and devastating Tailed Beast Ball Rasenshurikens. It’s one of the most powerful attacks in the series, capable of causing widespread destruction with just one hit.
