While the first season of MobLand doesn’t delve deeply into Harry’s background, it’s apparent he occasionally struggles with his choices and questions his leader. Despite generally appearing cold, calculating, and unfazed, there’s an internal conflict. Da Souza is a ruthless killer, but his motives seem more focused than those of the family he works for. While his films often push boundaries, his latest, MobLand, appears to be his most graphically violent project yet.

Look, this show definitely isn’t for the faint of heart – it’s pretty intense overall. But surprisingly, that infamous chainsaw scene everyone talks about? It’s actually pretty restrained, visually. The really shocking moment, the one that stuck with me, happens in Episode 2. It’s during the setup for the season’s main story, and it’s a genuinely disturbing shot – far more graphic than anything else I saw. It’s not about spectacle, it’s a quick, brutal moment that really sets the tone for everything that follows.

In “Jigsaw Puzzle,” Harry investigates the disappearance of Tommy, the son of a powerful crime boss. The boss believes Tommy was murdered by Conrad’s grandson and threatens Harry’s family until he gets answers.

Harry immediately starts investigating, and quickly discovers a horrifying truth: Conrad’s grandson not only killed Tommy, but brutally dismembered his body and packed it into a trunk. The show doesn’t hold back in depicting this gruesome scene, effectively foreshadowing the intense violence that will follow.
