A Naruto Voice Actor Wants to be Dragon Ball’s Next Big Villain

I was so thrilled with everything revealed at the Dragon Ball Genki Dama Festival this weekend! For years, fans like me have been wondering if Dragon Ball Super would ever come back as a TV series after the Tournament of Power ended. And it’s happening! They announced Dragon Ball Super: The Galactic Patrol. We don’t have a release date yet, but I heard a familiar voice actor is really eager to play the main villain, and honestly, they’re a pro at bringing bad guys to life!

Moro is the main villain in the upcoming Galactic Patrol Arc of Dragon Ball Super. He’s a powerful wizard who can absorb energy and has been locked away for centuries before recently being freed. Currently, Masako Nozawa, who has famously voiced Son Goku for many years, is the only voice actor confirmed to return. Neil Kaplan, known for voicing characters like Madara Uchiha in Naruto, Emperor Zarkon in Voltron, and Diabolico in Power Rangers, is hoping to be cast as Moro in the English dub. While it may take a while to get official news about the voice cast, Kaplan would be a great fit for the role.

Kaplan mentioned he was intrigued by a fan’s idea on social media – that he could play the role of Moro. Neil, responding to the fan, advised them to simply write a letter expressing their thoughts. You can view the conversation yourself below.

If this is what you think… write them a
letter and drop it in the mail.

Who is Dragon Ball Super’s Moro?

Moro was introduced in chapter 43 of Dragon Ball Super when galactic police officers asked Goku and Vegeta for help against a newly freed villain. Moro had originally been imprisoned by the Supreme Kais and first appears as an elderly, goat-like being, but like many Dragon Ball villains, he later gains more power. Although he wasn’t as strong as Goku or Vegeta at first, Moro was dangerous because of his ability to absorb energy.

Similar to some of the androids in Dragon Ball, Moro can steal energy from others – and even from his surroundings. While the androids needed to touch someone to absorb their power, Moro can do it just by being nearby. He’s constantly improving his abilities, and has even developed a unique way to fuse with others, making him one of the most dangerous enemies the Z-Fighters have ever fought.

While the Moro Arc isn’t the only big story Dragon Ball Super could adapt, the Granolah the Survivor Arc is another major one from the manga that hasn’t been turned into animation yet. Because the Galactic Patrol Arc is the longest one in the series so far, it might take a while before we see the Granolah Arc animated, but fans agree it will be worth the wait.
