In a recent interview with Vanity Fair, Kanye West explained that a change in his medication following a four-month period of mania led to a severe depressive episode. He shared that his wife noticed this and they worked with a rehab facility in Switzerland to find a treatment plan that would help stabilize his condition.

He explained that bipolar disorder is a serious illness, and one of the most dangerous non-fatal conditions a person can face.
