I’ve been totally hooked on isekai anime lately – it’s become huge! Seeing a regular person suddenly thrown into a fantasy world is just so appealing, and series like Sword Art Online, Shangri-La Frontier, and Mushoku Tensei have become massive hits. But honestly, not every isekai series manages to stick around, and I just heard some disappointing news. One of the biggest crossover events in the genre is actually ending sooner than anyone expected, which is a real bummer!
While not an anime itself, Isekai Isekai was a hugely popular mobile game that brought together characters from many different isekai worlds. Launched last January, it featured a massive roster including favorites like Shangri-La Frontier, Uncle From Another World, That Time I Got Reincarnated As a Slime, Reincarnated as a Word, and Jobless Reincarnation – and many more! Sadly, the game’s creators recently announced that it will be shutting down on April 27th. They’ve already started making changes as the closing date approaches.
Isekai Isekai, We Barely Knew You
COLOPL announced that they will be ending support for the game Isekai Isekai on April 27th, 2026. They thank players for their support but apologize for not being able to meet everyone’s expectations. They express their gratitude to those who enjoyed playing the game.
Starting today, players can no longer use their memberships to purchase in-game currency, called “Reincarnation Stones.” Although the game’s services will end in April, COLOPL has announced that players will still be able to play thanks to a final update, Version 6.0.0. However, data transfers will no longer be available after July 27th, so now is the time to enjoy this fantasy adventure if you haven’t already.
Although there isn’t a dedicated anime series specifically for the ‘Isekai Isekai’ concept, the isekai genre has still seen plenty of team-ups. Isekai Quartet is a funny series with three seasons that brings together popular characters from various isekai anime. Some of the series featured in the anime include Konosuba, Overlord, Re:Zero, Tanya the Evil, Shield Hero, and Eminence in Shadow.
