The first images from “Vladimir,” a new erotic drama featuring Rachel Weisz (known for “The Mummy”) and Leo Woodall (from “One Day”), have been released.
This eight-episode series is adapted from Julia May Jonas’s novel of the same name. It stars Rachel Weisz as a professor who is both passionate and impulsive. Her life starts to fall apart when she becomes intensely and dangerously attracted to a captivating new coworker.
The first look at the series reveals the main characters – Weisz’s character and Woodall as Vladimir – along with the actors playing their wives: John Slattery and Jessica Henwick.
It has also been announced exactly when the series will debut on Netflix – Thursday 5th March 2026.

Weisz told Tudum that the new series will blend both comedic and dramatic elements.
She described the work as playful and a clever blend of tones, perfect for tackling weighty themes. At its heart, it’s a story about the revitalizing power of longing – the energy and inspiration the character finds in her intense focus on Vlad. It’s about rediscovering a zest for life after a period of feeling numb or inactive.
The story centers on a woman facing challenges in both her career and marriage. She’s feeling unfulfilled professionally and disconnected from her husband, even though they have an open relationship. Adding to her difficulties, she discovers that her college is investigating a sexual assault allegation against a colleague, John, who also teaches there.

She soon meets Vladimir, a talented young writer who’s newly hired at the school with his wife, Cynthia, and she finds herself increasingly captivated by him.
The character played by Weisz will address the audience directly, but her version of events might not be entirely trustworthy.
According to Weisz, the story lets you know exactly what a character is thinking, but also shows you how she tries to influence your perception. What she wants you to believe isn’t the whole story, though – it’s a slightly skewed version of the truth.
