Pete Davidson Reveals Double Meaning Behind Daughter Scottie’s Name

Pete Davidson will always remember one fateful trip across the pond.

Recently, the former cast member of Saturday Night Live shared the special meaning behind the name of his new daughter, Scottie Rose Hewitt Davidson, who was born in December to him and his girlfriend, Elsie Hewitt.

The tattoo is a touching tribute to Pete Davidson’s late father, Scott Davidson, a New York City firefighter who tragically died on September 11, 2001. However, it also has a second, personal meaning: Pete revealed in an interview with Elite Daily that his daughter was conceived in Scotland.

Elsie, 29, said she and Pete, who started dating publicly in March, considered many different names before choosing one they both loved from the beginning.

She explained they always felt drawn to that particular option because it held the most significance for them, and they also thought it was really adorable.

Scottie’s middle name is particularly meaningful to Elsie because it carries on a cherished family tradition.

The new mother shared that her middle name is Rose, just like both of her sisters. This is because ‘Rose’ was part of their mother’s family name. She chose to include it in her daughter’s name as a way to honor her sisters and keep a piece of their family history alive.

When we announced Scottie’s birth last month, I have to admit, I fell in love with her instantly! I truly felt like she was our perfect little angel girl.

She shared photos of her baby on Instagram, calling it her best work yet. She also expressed overwhelming love, gratitude, and disbelief.

And in the weeks since becoming a dad, Pete has already noticed one positive change in himself.

He shared with Elite Daily that he used to worry a lot about trying to please everyone and being perfect. Now, he’s much more relaxed, thinking, ‘It would be great if I could achieve something, but if not, I still have the chance to spend time with Scottie.’
