The Simpsons Confirms Release Date & Guest Stars for Milestone 800th Episode

To celebrate reaching 800 episodes, The Simpsons has announced details for a special event on Fox. Currently in its 37th season, the show has been renewed for four more seasons. While the latest season has already featured some changes and new faces, the 800th episode will be an extra-special event.

The Simpsons is returning to Fox with its 800th episode on Sunday, February 15th! Entertainment Weekly has revealed that the episode will feature the Simpsons family traveling to Philadelphia for a treasure hunt similar to the plot of the National Treasure movies. Along the way, they’ll encounter some well-known guest stars with ties to Philadelphia and Pennsylvania that fans are sure to recognize.

The Simpsons Episode 800 and Guest Stars Revealed

The 800th episode of The Simpsons will air on Sunday, February 15th at 8:00 PM Eastern Time, immediately followed by the season 37 finale at 8:30 PM ET. Titled “Irrational Treasure,” the episode takes the family to Pennsylvania, and features guest stars Quinta Brunson (from Abbott Elementary) as a character named Adrienne, and Kevin Bacon as a hotel concierge.

Three stars from HBO’s The Pitt (the medical drama filmed in Pittsburgh) will guest star in this episode: Noah Wyle will play a doctor, Katherine LaNasa a nurse, and Taylor Dearden an intern. Musician Questlove will appear as a tour guide, and Boyz II Men will perform a new version of the show’s opening and closing themes. The episode is heavily inspired by Pennsylvania, including the storyline itself.

What Will The Simpsons Episode 800 Be About?

The latest update also shares details about the 800th episode of The Simpsons. It seems Marge will try to get Santa’s Little Helper in shape by entering him into dog agility competitions, which leads to a trip to the National Dog Show in Philadelphia. There, Marge and Homer, along with their dog, become involved in a historical mystery reminiscent of the National Treasure films.

This aligns with earlier hints from The Simpsons showrunner Matt Selman about the upcoming episode. He playfully avoided giving too much away, but did mention, “It involves the dog… The dog gets fat.” Now we just have to wait and see how that plays out in the show.
