Upcoming Marvel TV Shows: 2026 & Beyond

The Marvel Cinematic Universe continues to grow with new films and TV series. Several exciting shows are planned for 2026 and the years following, and the MCU remains the leading force in superhero entertainment, now encompassing both movies and interconnected TV shows.

2026 is shaping up to be a major year for the Marvel Cinematic Universe, with both the films Spider-Man: Brand New Day and Avengers: Doomsday scheduled for release. In addition to the movies, several key TV shows are planned, starting with Wonder Man in January 2026, and more live-action and animated Marvel series will follow.

Fortunately, Marvel’s plans for TV series don’t stop in 2026. Several shows are currently being developed, and a few are even expected to premiere in 2027.

Daredevil: Born Again (Seasons 2 & 3)

Daredevil began as a hero in the Marvel TV series originally on Netflix, and has since become part of the larger Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU). Charlie Cox, who plays Matt Murdock/Daredevil, first officially appeared in the MCU in Spider-Man: No Way Home, then had roles in She-Hulk and Echo before starring in his own new series, Daredevil: Born Again.

As a huge fan of the original show, I’m so excited to see it continuing within the Marvel Cinematic Universe! It’s awesome seeing Wilson Fisk, brilliantly played by Vincent D’Onofrio, now as the mayor of New York. But things quickly turn dark as he starts going after anyone who tries to take the law into their own hands. In the second season, Daredevil, Matt Murdock, realizes he needs to fight back and puts together a team to resist Fisk’s plans.

Krysten Ritter will reprise her role as Jessica Jones and join Charlie Cox’s Daredevil this season, marking her official debut in the Marvel Cinematic Universe after previously starring in her own Netflix series and alongside Daredevil in The Defenders. The second season of Daredevil: Born Again is scheduled to premiere on March 24, 2026, and a third season is currently being planned for a March 2027 release.

The Punisher (TV Special)

Frank Castle, known as the Punisher and played by Jon Bernthal, first appeared in Netflix’s Marvel series. He later got his own show, which ran for two seasons, and has now become part of the Marvel Cinematic Universe, appearing in Daredevil: Born Again. He’s set to continue in the MCU with a new TV special currently in production.

We don’t have many details about the story yet, but the Punisher is expected to appear in a special around mid-2026, probably alongside the new Spider-Man movie, Spider-Man: Brand New Day. Frank Castle will have a part to play in Spider-Man’s upcoming film.

X-Men ‘97 (Seasons 2 & 3)

via MovieStillsDB

X-Men ‘97 is a continuation of the beloved animated series, X-Men: The Animated Series, which many consider to be one of the greatest animated shows ever made. The new series picks up the story a year after the events of the original, following an attempt on Professor Xavier’s life.

It’s been tough since Xavier went to the Shi’ar Empire for healing. With him gone, we’re all trying to figure things out without his guidance, and surprisingly, Magneto’s stepped up to lead us. The first season of X-Men ‘97 came out in 2024 and everyone loved it! We’re eagerly awaiting season 2, which should be here in the summer of 2026, and I’ve heard they’re already working on season 3!

Your Friendly Neighborhood Spider-Man (Seasons 2 & 3)

Spider-Man now has an animated series, and surprisingly, it’s connected to the Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU). However, it takes place in a different timeline than the main MCU films and shows. The series, titled Your Friendly Neighborhood Spider-Man, tells the story of Peter Parker (voiced by Hudson Thames) and how he first became Spider-Man.

Okay, so picture this: in this version of the Spider-Man story, Norman Osborn is actually the one guiding Peter, taking on a mentor role. And forget the radioactive spider bite – Peter gets his powers thanks to some seriously complicated time-traveling shenanigans involving Doctor Strange and a nasty alien symbiote. It creates a temporal paradox that gives him the Spider-Man abilities. The movie, Your Friendly Neighborhood Spider-Man, came out in 2025 and, honestly, critics really liked it!

The popular animated series, Your Friendly Neighborhood Spider-Man, has been renewed for both a second and third season. Season two is currently planned for release in late 2026 as part of Marvel’s Phase Six plans, and work on season three has already begun.

VisionQuest

VisionQuest is a new series that follows up on the events of WandaVision, bringing back Paul Bettany as Vision. He’ll appear as the white version of the character we saw at the end of WandaVision. Previously, Vision recovered his memories and set out to explore his past and figure out what he wants to do with his life.

During New York Comic Con in 2025, Paul Bettany shared that his character, Vision, retains memories but lacks emotions – and that internal conflict will be central to his storyline. While a public trailer isn’t available yet, attendees at NYCC saw footage featuring humanized versions of AI characters and StarkTech creations, including J.A.R.V.I.S. (played by James D’Arcy) and Ultron (voiced by James Spader).

Currently, not much is known about the upcoming Disney+ show VisionQuest except that it will have eight episodes, similar to other Marvel TV series. It’s planned for release in late 2026 as part of Phase Six of the Marvel Cinematic Universe. Also, as of right now, Paul Bettany hasn’t been announced as part of the cast for Avengers: Doomsday.

Marvel Zombies (Season 2)

Rumored

Marvel Zombies is an animated miniseries that expands on the world of What If…? It takes place in an alternate reality first shown in What If…?, where a virus has turned most of the population into zombies, including the Avengers. The show centers around a group of survivors as they search for a cure to the zombie plague.

The Disney+ series Marvel Zombies includes characters like Ms. Marvel, Ironheart, Kate Bishop, and Yelena Belova. Although the show received varying opinions from critics, executive producer Brad Winderbaum revealed in a January 2026 interview with The Official Marvel Podcast (as reported by Bleeding Cool) that they are exploring the possibility of continuing the Marvel Zombies story, but a new season hasn’t been officially approved.
