If you’re a book lover who also enjoys watching TV, you’ll be excited about these upcoming adaptations! We’ve seen some amazing books turned into shows recently, like Hulu’s suspenseful series Tell Me Lies, inspired by Carola Lovering’s novel and filled with early 2000s vibes and a complicated romance. Peacock’s All Her Fault, based on Andrea Mara’s book, kept audiences on the edge of their seats with its chilling story about a missing child. And the popular Prime Video series Reacher, adapted from Lee Child’s novels, continues to be a thrilling hit.
As a total book and TV lover, I’m already getting excited about 2026! It looks like we’re in for a really strong year of shows adapted from novels. I’m talking about stories with characters you’ll really connect with, plots that keep you on the edge of your seat, and some unexpected twists. Whether you’re craving great science fiction or a good scare with horror, there seem to be a lot of promising series on the way – I’m marking my calendar now!
‘Scarpetta’
Prime Video, March 11th, 2026

Amazon Prime Video
Based on Patricia Cornwell’s novels, the new series Scarpetta stars Nicole Kidman as Kay Scarpetta, a forensic pathologist. Jamie Lee Curtis plays Kay’s sister, Dorothy, and the show also features Ariana DeBose, Sosie Bacon, and Bobby Cannavale. It’s exciting to see Kidman and Curtis together in a new thriller!
The impressive cast is a major reason to be excited about Scarpetta, but the show’s storytelling approach is also really interesting. It will follow the main character’s life and career, starting in the 1990s and continuing to the present day. It seems like a fresh spin on familiar thriller elements – a brilliant protagonist with a complex history who decides to go back home. And, of course, Nicole Kidman and Jamie Lee Curtis are starring! What more could you ask for?
‘Neuromancer’
AppleTV, 2026

Ace Books
I’ve been eagerly waiting for a Neuromancer TV show for ages, and it looks like it’s finally happening! It’s expected to arrive on AppleTV around 2026. It’s amazing to think it’s taken so long – William Gibson first published the novel way back in 1984!
The new cyberpunk series follows Molly, played by Briana Middleton, and hacker Case, played by Callum Turner, as they join forces. It’s a sweeping science fiction story that fans have been eagerly awaiting, as there was uncertainty whether the book would ever be adapted for television. Though a release date hasn’t been announced yet, AppleTV+ is quickly becoming known for its high-quality sci-fi shows. It appears Neuromancer will be joining other popular and imaginative series like Pluribus, Silo, and Severance. Given the series’ focus on artificial intelligence, the timing of its release feels particularly relevant.
‘The Last Thing He Told Me’ Season 2
AppleTV, February 20th, 2026

Apple TV
Laura Dave’s novel, The Last Thing He Told Me, published in 2021, is a touching story about family, grief, and new beginnings. With the release of its sequel, The First Time I Saw Him, in January 2026, it’s not surprising that AppleTV renewed the TV series for a second season, making it a highly anticipated release for February 2026.
The series centers on Hannah Hall (Jennifer Garner) whose husband, Owen (Nikolaj Coster-Waldau), suddenly vanishes. She joins forces with his daughter, Bailey (Angourie Rice), to uncover what happened. The first season of The Last Thing He Told Me is a quick-moving and enjoyable watch, and it stays true to the source material – something fans of the book will appreciate. Season 1 has seven episodes, and Season 2 will follow suit with eight episodes, keeping the show’s seasons relatively short.
‘Carrie’
Prime Video, 2026

United Artists
Good news for fans of Mike Flanagan and Stephen King! A TV series adapting Carrie is coming to Prime Video, and many believe it will be released around 2026. Though Stephen King’s 1974 novel is already well-known, and a classic movie adaptation exists, this new series will offer a fresh take. According to star Matthew Lillard, Flanagan designed the show to reflect current events and the world we live in today.
With the upcoming Carrie series feeling especially timely, it’s easy to get excited about it. Plus, Mike Flanagan – known for his excellent horror storytelling in Netflix shows like The Midnight Club, The Haunting of Hill House, and Midnight Mass – is behind it, and his vision for the story is very promising.
‘Margo’s Got Money Troubles’
Apple, April 15th, 2026

AppleTV
Unexpected pregnancies are a common theme in stories, but Margo’s Got Money Troubles adds a unique twist: a main character whose father was a professional wrestler. This 2024 novel, by Rufi Thorpe, has been adapted into a project featuring a strong cast and an intriguing story. Elle Fanning stars as a young woman who turns to OnlyFans after finding out she’s pregnant. The production also boasts well-known actors like Michelle Pfeiffer, Nicole Kidman, Greg Kinnear, and Nick Offerman, similar to the star power behind Scarpetta.
Beyond its interesting story, the series comes from David E. Kelley, the creator of popular shows like the HBO thriller Big Little Lies and classic legal dramas such as The Practice and Ally McBeal. The show, based on Thorpe’s book, delves into themes of wealth, raising children, and family dynamics, while also following Margo’s journey of self-discovery. Viewers can expect the series to be just as thoughtful and emotionally resonant as the original novel.
’56 Days’
Prime, February 18th, 2026

Prime Video
The Prime Video series 56 Days, based on Catherine Ryan Howard’s 2021 novel, centers on the captivating connection between Ciara Wyse (Dove Cameron) and Oliver Kennedy (Avan Jorgensen). But a simple love story isn’t very compelling, so naturally, there’s a hidden layer of complexity to their relationship.

Set in Dublin, the new Prime Video thriller 56 Days centers on the relationship between Ciara and Oliver as they navigate life during the COVID-19 pandemic. Things get even more complicated when a body is found. The series promises plenty of suspense and romance, reminiscent of The Girlfriend, and the trailer suggests a similarly steamy atmosphere. All eight episodes will be available on February 18, 2026, so viewers can binge-watch the entire story at once, and hopefully uncover all the secrets it holds.
‘I Will Find You’
Netflix, 2026

Grand Central Publishing
Harlan Coben fans have two new thriller series to look forward to on Netflix this year! “Run Away” premiered on January 1st, 2026, and another series, “I Will Find You,” is expected to be released sometime in 2026.
As a huge Harlan Coben fan, I was immediately hooked by the setup of I Will Find You: a man, David Burroughs (played by Sam Worthington), is locked up for life for supposedly killing his son. But then, a glimmer of hope suggests his son might actually be alive, and that’s when things really get interesting. Coben always delivers these twisty, unsettling stories about families facing unimaginable horrors, and this one definitely fits the bill. Plus, the cast is fantastic – you’ve got Milo Ventimiglia, Britt Lower, Jonathan Tucker, Logan Browning, Madeline Stowe, and Chi McBride all involved, which is a great sign!
