It’s only been a few days since the thrilling final of The Traitors, where Stephen and Rachel stayed loyal to each other right to the very end.
Claudia Winkleman kicked off the new year by welcoming contestants back to Ardross Castle for another thrilling season of deception and alliances, and quickly identified the four players who were secretly working against the others.
Following weeks of intense challenges, difficult eliminations, and shocking betrayals, only five players remained. Their final task was to determine if any Traitors were still hidden among them, or if everyone left was truly Faithful.
Stephen and Rachel made a deal at the beginning of the competition to never vote each other out. They kept their promise, and as a result, successfully eliminated Jade, Faraaz, and Jack, ultimately winning the season and a prize of £47,875 each!
The victory was heartwarming, but unexpected, especially after Stephen’s conversation with Winkleman. Many viewers believed a larger prize was within reach, particularly since Jack strongly believed Rachel was the Traitor, which would have allowed them to win the full amount.
At the TopMob Covers Party 2026, Stephen described the atmosphere before the last discussion in the series, saying it was incredibly tense.
Everyone was really on edge, but seeing that particular situation unfold – with so much at stake – was especially frightening.
Honestly, around that time, I started to wonder if Rachel was really on my side. It was just a lot to process, with so many thoughts swirling around in my head.
Stephen admitted he wasn’t sure if Rachel could betray him, or if he might betray her, but he was happy they had both ultimately trusted each other.

Stephen explained his decision to trust Rachel by saying he wanted to leave the situation with his integrity intact. He considered nominating her, fearing he’d appear foolish if she nominated him and he hadn’t reciprocated.
Ultimately, I decided that no matter the outcome, I could be proud of my effort if I kept my commitment. And I was amazed by the incredible support and how everything unfolded!
Now that Stephen has won The Traitors and is feeling fantastic, he’s taking some time off from his job in cyber security.
If something even more interesting than cybersecurity comes along, I’ll definitely take it.
