Rumors about a remake of Assassin’s Creed 4: Black Flag are circulating, and Ubisoft hasn’t commented. Now, a Twitter user named j0nathan has found a figurine of the game’s main character, Edward Kenway, for sale on Vinted. This discovery suggests the figurine might be related to the widely expected remake.
Jonathan also pointed out that the figurine appeared brand new, suggesting it was likely made recently. However, while the pictures show Edward Kenway looking as stylish as ever, they don’t give any clues about the manufacturer.
A user named j0nathan spotted a brand new Edward Kenway figurine for sale on Vinted. They wondered if it could be an official collectible from the upcoming Black Flag remake, which was expected to be released in under two months.
This figurine might have been made by Play Arts, the company known for officially-licensed collectibles from franchises like Assassin’s Creed. Last June, they accidentally hinted at a possible Black Flag remake coming sooner than expected. During a livestream, two of their hosts mentioned “something is going on with Edward,” suggesting new developments were in the works.
During a chat with fans, someone mentioned that there seemed to be an issue with Edward Kenway, the main character from Assassin’s Creed Black Flag. This came up when fans asked why they weren’t seeing a figure of him. Another person then questioned if any announcement about this issue had been made.
“I think I did see something about that,” the first host said. “Actually, yes, I definitely saw an article mentioning it.” The livestream continued, and the host later shared, “Something is happening with Edward, and our 1/8th scale PVC statue will be updated to reflect those changes.”
As j0nathan pointed out, this number might be connected to the upcoming remake, which was initially expected in under two months. However, recent news shows the release has been pushed back to 2027, after originally being planned for March 19th.
This change may be connected to Ubisoft’s recent company-wide restructuring, which included canceling some games like the Prince of Persia: The Sands of Time Remake. According to reports, Assassin’s Creed Black Flag Resynced – the rumored title – was originally planned to be finished and ready for release in early February. Industry insider Tom Henderson suggests the delay may be due to significant bugs in the game.
Interestingly, Ubisoft recently put 18 songs from the Assassin’s Creed 4: Black Flag soundtrack back on its Ubisoft Music channel. They explained in a post that they had to re-upload the tracks due to some technical problems with the original videos.
A remake of Assassin’s Creed Black Flag, currently known as Assassin’s Creed Black Flag Resynced, is reportedly in the works for PC, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series X/S. The original game was previously released on PC, PlayStation 3 and 4, Xbox 360 and One, and Nintendo Switch.
Is a remake of Black Flag leaking? Someone on Vinted is selling a brand new Edward Kenway figure, claiming it will be released this year. Given that the Black Flag remake was expected to launch in under two months, could this be an official figure from the game?
