Among the many animated shows on Cartoon Network, Ben 10 stands out as one of the most popular action series from the network. Since its debut in 2005, the story of Ben Tennyson has been revisited with several new versions, sequels, and movies. Although Cartoon Network hasn’t announced another new series yet, the original creators are working on a new Ben 10 project to bring fans back to the world of Ben, and they’ve recently revealed its release date.
Joe Casey, one of the writers for the upcoming comic, had initially announced a new Ben 10 series from Dynamite Comics would arrive in February. However, the release was postponed. Casey recently shared an update on his Substack, explaining that while the February launch was planned, unexpected issues arose – a common occurrence in publishing. He now expects the comic to launch in May. This new series won’t revisit canceled Ben 10 shows, but will instead offer a fresh take on the well-known characters.
Ben 10 Will Return
I was talking with Casey about the new Ben 10 comic, and he explained how exciting it is to be back working with the team at Man of Action Studios and revisiting the Ben 10 universe. Because this comic series is essentially a fresh start, they feel they can pull inspiration from any of the animated shows. He also said that working with his partners after 25 years is still great – they’re good friends and know how to deliver!
Want to know about the return of Ben 10 in comic book form? Dynamite Comics describes the new series as a more direct, action-packed adventure. It’s designed for longtime fans and new readers alike, bringing the classic story to a modern audience. The comic format allows for greater creative freedom, exploring a wider range of emotions and storytelling styles – from funny and heartwarming to dramatic and even a little strange.
It’s unclear if a new animated series featuring Ben Tennyson is in the works, but Warner Bros. does plan to revive some beloved Cartoon Network shows soon. With franchises like Adventure Time and Regular Show making a return, it’s always possible for classic animated characters to get a fresh start.
