After a pretty rough Season 5 – involving near-death experiences, imprisonment, hacking, and even a honey trap – it looks like Roddy Ho (Christopher Chung) from Slow Horses might finally be starting to learn from his mistakes.
He shared that Roddy has become more focused on his inner self. Experiences from season five, particularly unrequited love, seem to have had an impact, and viewers might see him approaching things with a more well-rounded perspective in season six.
He explained that playing the character Roddy is fantastic because it allows him to express thoughts and opinions he’d normally keep to himself. He enjoys being completely honest and even a little outrageous as Roddy, while still trying to make the character relatable and human. He finds the whole experience really enjoyable.
When asked if his character shows more compassion in season six, following the events of season five, Chung said he believes that’s true.
He’s not the type to easily reveal his feelings. He keeps a guarded exterior, though beneath that, he’s actually quite sensitive and eager to please, much more so than people expect.
The sixth season, coming out later this year, will be based on two novels by Mick Herron.
Each season of Slow Horses has its own unique vibe, and thinking about how that will evolve is part of the process,” Chung said.

This season, we successfully merged the content of two books into a single, fast-paced story, significantly building on the events and momentum from season five.
When asked about continuing the show, the actor said he’d happily play Roddy for a long time, but he knows he’ll be sad when he finally has to stop. He hopes that day is far off.
