JoJo’s Bizarre Adventure Challenges Fans With Sushi Eating Competition For Big Prizes

Fans of JoJo’s Bizarre Adventure have a lot to look forward to in 2026! Netflix is finally bringing the Steel Ball Run arc of the anime to its platform. To celebrate, the series creator, Hirohiko Araki, is hosting a unique competition: a sushi-eating contest in Japan. The winners will receive amazing prizes, putting their skills – and appetites – to the test.

Conveyor-belt sushi restaurants are popular in both Japan and North America, and the creators of the JoJo’s Bizarre Adventure series have taken notice. As part of a special event, they’re challenging fans to eat 100 plates of sushi at Sushiro restaurants. If successful, fans will receive life-sized standees of Jotaro Kujo and Dio Brando from Stardust Crusaders. Unfortunately, this challenge is currently only available in Japan and hasn’t been confirmed for North America.

JoJo’s Steel Ball Comeback

Although sushi isn’t a central element in the upcoming Steel Ball Run arc of JoJo’s Bizarre Adventure, it’s still one of the most eagerly awaited parts of the series. The events of Stone Ocean have established a fresh setting for the Joestar family, as Pucci’s actions have essentially created a new timeline. While the Joestars and their Stands will continue to be important, this new world offers a significantly different experience than fans may expect.

The next part of this anime will introduce Johnny Joestar and Gyro Zeppeli, who enter a high-stakes horse race across North America. The winner gets anything they wish, and Johnny is hoping to win back the ability to walk. Set nearly a century before the story of Stone Ocean, you’ll see some known characters in a fresh, new way.

Okay, so if you’re following the JoJo’s Bizarre Adventure manga, things have moved past Steel Ball Run! Right now, the story continues with Jojolion and then The JOJOLands. We’ve been waiting a while for these arcs to get animated, but with how popular JoJo is, I’m hopeful it’ll happen eventually! The good news is we won’t have to wait much longer for JoJo content – Netflix is releasing the Steel Ball Run anime on March 19th, and I’m so excited!
