Season 2 of Frieren: Beyond Journey’s End is underway, and a preview of Episode 3 has been released. The anime returned this winter to much anticipation, and the first episode lived up to the hype. Many viewers already consider the new season even stronger than the first, and the first two episodes have been particularly impressive. Now, the series aims to keep up the momentum.
Unlike typical anime series focused on a central quest, it’s difficult to know what will happen next in Frieren: Beyond Journey’s End. As Frieren revisits places from her past adventures with the hero’s party, each episode reveals more about this expansive and imaginative world. The upcoming Season 2 Episode 3 continues that trend – you can get a sneak peek below.
How to Watch Frieren: Beyond Journey’s End Season 2 Episode 3

The third episode of Frieren: Beyond Journey’s End Season 2 will premiere on Crunchyroll this Friday, January 30th at 7:00 AM Pacific Time. It will be available in North and South America, Europe, Africa, Oceania, the Middle East, India, and the CIS region, shortly after its release in Japan. The episode continues the story, showing Frieren and her companions as they begin their journey into the mountains, as hinted in the previous episodes.
The anime’s official website reveals that Frieren and her companions are searching for a hot spring in the abandoned resort town of Etwas. They’ve heard whispers of a hidden hot spring deep within Mount Etwas and decide to investigate. Their journey will take them through a dangerous, monster-filled mountain path. Later, after reaching the next town, Fern receives a surprising invitation from Stark.
What’s Next for Frieren Season 2?

The anime Frieren: Beyond Journey’s End has announced that its second season will be shorter than the first. While Season 1 had 20 episodes spread over two years, Season 2 will only have ten. This is likely because the anime is catching up to the original manga, which has experienced recent delays.
The anime might also include extra content not found in the original manga. We already saw this in the second episode, which featured a fight scene that was much longer than the one in the manga. If the anime keeps adding great material and producing strong episodes, it has the potential to be one of the best shows of 2026.
