Card-en-Ciel Expansion Pass detailed, sixth free content update now available

Inti Creates has revealed what’s included in the Expansion Pass for Card-en-Ciel and also released a free update – the sixth one – to coincide with the game’s launch on the Switch 2.

For $9.99, the Expansion Pass includes two new content packs: “The World of Gal Guardians: Servants of the Dark,” available February 19th, and “The World of the Blaster Master Zero Series,” launching March 12th. These packs add new dungeons, cards, events, and other content to the game. You can also buy each pack separately for $4.99.

A free update is now available, featuring new ‘Real Challenge Battles,’ better online play, a new Extra Dungeon, and other enhancements.

Here are the latest details:

Gal Guardians: Servants of the Dark and Blaster Master Zero come to Card-en-Ciel

Two new downloadable packs are available for Card-en-Ciel, adding fresh story elements, dungeons, and cards to the game. One pack, Gal Guardians Servants of the Dark, includes characters from last year’s 2D Metroidvania game. The other, featuring the Blaster Master Zero series, adds content from all three games in that retro reboot series.

Each content pack you download will add two new dungeons—one featuring a unique story and voice acting—along with several new cards, random events, and a new Muse. You’ll unlock this content as you progress through the main game.

The downloadable content “World of Gal Guardians: Servants of the Dark” will be available on February 19th, and “World of the Blaster Master Zero Series” will follow on March 12th. An Expansion Pass, priced at $9.99, also launches on February 19th and gives players instant access to both downloadable content packs as soon as they’re released, along with a special Neon card.

The two packs will also be available individually for $4.99 each.

New Free Content Update Available Today

A fresh update for Card-en-Ciel is available now on all devices, adding new things to do, tougher challenges, and various improvements.

“Real Challenge Battles” will give players specific battles to complete using a limited number of moves. Successfully finishing these battles will earn players new Parallel Cards.

We’ve made Network Battles even better! We’ve focused on ensuring the starting Muse choices are fair, and now players can re-roll their options if they’re not happy with their initial picks.

A new optional dungeon is coming, designed to give experienced players a tough but enjoyable challenge, and it will also increase the chances of finding powerful Parallel Cards.

Card-en-Ciel – Nintendo Switch 2 Edition Out Now

Card-en-Ciel – Nintendo Switch 2 Edition is out now on the Nintendo eShop (as of January 29th)! This new version offers the option to play in high resolution 4K or at a smooth 120 frames per second. You can even switch to mouse controls by simply moving your Joy-Con 2, making it easier to select cards during battles.

So, I found out you can get the Nintendo Switch 2 Edition for thirty bucks, which is pretty cool. If you already have the original Switch version, you can upgrade to this one for just five bucks! Not a bad deal at all.

Card-en-Ciel is currently available on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series, PlayStation 4, Xbox One, Switch, and PC through Steam. It will also be released on the new Switch 2 console on January 29th.
