*Warning: This article contains spoilers for Bridgerton season 4 part 1.*
The first part of Bridgerton season 4 ended with a major surprise! Benedict and Sophie finally admitted their feelings for each other, but there was a big misunderstanding – Benedict shockingly asked Sophie to become his mistress instead of proposing a proper relationship.
Benedict remains oblivious to the fact that Sophie is the elusive Lady in Silver he’s been searching for, aided by his sister Eloise. However, his recent discussion with other gentlemen about having mistresses clearly resonated with them.
Sophie was completely stunned by the proposal, and immediately left the Bridgerton house – where she now lives and works – leaving their future uncertain.
Lady Violet Bridgerton and Lord Marcus Anderson ended things on a positive note, but season four promises more drama. Lady Araminta and her daughters have moved in next door to the Bridgertons, and their new housekeeper, Mrs. Varley, used to work for Sophie. This proximity suggests things will become much more complicated as the season unfolds.
Good news – the season isn’t over yet! It’s been divided into two parts, and we still have four episodes left to enjoy. Want to know when those final episodes will be available on Netflix? Keep reading to find out.

What will Bridgerton season 4 part 2 be about?

In the first part of Bridgerton season 4, Benedict was determined to find the mysterious woman he met at his mother’s ball – the Lady in Silver. Unbeknownst to him, this woman was Sophie, a maid who had secretly taken a night off from her duties. With the help of her friends, she enjoyed a rare moment of freedom, and unexpectedly connected with Benedict. He was captivated by her, and driven to find her again, relying only on his memory of her kiss and voice.
Eloise offered her assistance while Benedict spent time getting to know different women, hoping to find a potential match. He met Sophie, who had recently been discovered by Lady Araminta and left without a home or job. They found themselves sheltering together from a storm at a Bridgerton estate in the countryside, and over the following days, a connection grew between them. However, Benedict didn’t realize Sophie was the woman he’d been searching for all along.
Sophie already knew what had happened, but she considered whether to tell him, ultimately deciding against it. Feeling grateful to Sophie for saving his life, Benedict offered her a job helping his mother at the Bridgerton estate. Though hesitant at first, Sophie accepted, as she didn’t have many other options.
Everything came to a head in the fourth episode when Lady Violet successfully got her children away from home, allowing them to spend a night alone with Marcus. They all went to Francesca and Lord Stirling’s for dinner, but their evening was interrupted by an unexpected visit from Michaela. It was obvious something had happened between Francesca and Michaela since their last meeting, based on Francesca’s surprised reaction.
The biggest surprises came right at the end: Benedict and Sophie finally kissed, but he then shocked her by asking her to be his mistress instead of pursuing a real relationship. And that wasn’t all – Lady Araminta, her daughters, and Mrs. Varley have moved into the house next door to the Bridgertons, putting them just a short walk away from Sophie.
We can anticipate that the second part of the story will delve deeper into the developing conflicts between Sophie and Benedict, showcase Lady Araminta’s growing influence in society, and finally reveal what happened to Francesca and Michaela in Scotland.
