Has PlayStation Found Its Own Black Myth: Wukong? New PS5 Console Exclusive Is One to Watch

China’s video game industry is currently experiencing a boom, boosted by hits like Black Myth: Wukong. With the recent release of Phantom Blade Zero potentially adding to this success, Sony’s “China Hero Project” is now showcasing more exciting new games developed within the country.

I just checked out a trailer for this new game called A Whisper of Fall: Jinyiwei, and it looks seriously cool. It’s being made by a Chinese developer, CangMo Game Entertainment, and Sony’s helping them out with their China Hero Project. From what I’ve seen, it’s an action RPG where you fight using martial arts, but with awesome parkour moves thrown in. The trailer shows about four minutes of gameplay, and it’s coming to both PS5 and PC. I’m definitely keeping an eye on this one!

The game isn’t a single, seamless open world. Instead, it features several open-ended levels that you explore, moving between them through time using a special detective skill. Here’s a brief overview of the story:

I’m really excited about this game, A Whisper of Fall: Jinyiwei! You start as a simple boatman, but your life gets turned upside down when you’re suddenly forced to go undercover within the Jinyiwei – that’s the Ming Dynasty’s Imperial Guard. It’s a wild double life! You’re training your martial arts and doing missions for the Imperial Guard, but you’re also taking on secret tasks for the black market. The more you investigate these cases, the more you realize something huge and dangerous is going on behind the scenes. It sounds like a really gripping story!

The game also includes a detective element, where you solve cases by questioning suspects and figuring out who committed the crime.

A recent announcement asks: will you get involved in uncovering a conspiracy and become a hero defending the country, quietly focus on your own life, or forge a different destiny? The decision is up to you.
