Dragon Ball Super to Finally Get Us Closer to Black Frieza Anime Debut

Great news for fans! Dragon Ball Super is returning with a new season as part of the Dragon Ball franchise’s 40th anniversary. The new season will adapt the ‘Galactic Patrol Prisoner’ arc, which was previously only available in the manga. This means fans will finally get to see the exciting events of this arc animated, and it brings us closer to seeing Frieza return!

Fans are excited about the possible return of Dragon Ball Super with the Galactic Patrol Prisoner arc, which will pit Goku and Vegeta against their most powerful enemy yet. This also brings the anime closer to adapting the Granolah the Survivor arc. This new story introduces a formidable warrior considered the strongest in Universe 7 – and it’s revealed to be Frieza, who has been training to achieve a godly power level surpassing even Goku and Vegeta’s.

Dragon Ball Super’s New Anime Will Lead Us to Black Frieza

Looking back at the history of Dragon Ball, it’s amazing how important Frieza has been from the start. Despite being defeated on Namek, he’s returned repeatedly, even being revived after helping to win the Tournament of Power. He briefly became an ally to Goku, assisting in the fight against Jiren, but quickly reverted to his villainous ways, as seen in Dragon Ball Super: Broly.

Frieza hadn’t been seen for a while, but Goku and Vegeta knew he’d likely return as a threat eventually. That moment arrived at the end of the Granolah the Survivor arc when he revealed he’d discovered a Hyperbolic Time Chamber in space and spent ten years training inside. This allowed him to achieve a new, even more powerful form called “Black Frieza.” In this form, he easily defeated both Goku and Vegeta, as well as the arc’s main villain, with a single attack. It was a major turning point, and fans are now waiting to see what happens next.

Dragon Ball Super’s Hiatus is Holding Black Frieza Back

The Dragon Ball Super manga recently finished adapting the Dragon Ball Super: Super Hero movie, but this doesn’t mean the story is over. There’s still an unresolved hint about the return of Black Frieza. The new anime series is a great chance to continue that storyline, picking up where the manga left off. Even if the manga remains paused, the anime can now explore what happens with Frieza next.

As a huge Dragon Ball fan, I’d be absolutely thrilled if Dragon Ball Super ended its anime run with Black Frieza as the big bad! It would be such a fantastic way to bring things full circle for the whole franchise. Right now, it’s all up in the air how the creators will actually use him, and they don’t need to make any announcements just yet. But honestly, just knowing we’re going to see this awesome new form soon is enough to get me hyped!
