Publisher Admits Bloodlines 2 Bombed, But DLC’s Still Coming in 2026

As a big fan of Paradox Interactive games, I was a little bummed to see their recent report. Apparently, they had a pretty significant drop in operating profit this year, and it seems the launch of Vampire: The Masquerade – Bloodlines 2 back in October played a big role in that.

According to CEO Fred Wester, the company’s main business is doing very well, bringing in a lot of revenue and healthy cash flow, as reported by GamesIndustry.

However, our financial results were affected by changes in exchange rates and a reduction in the value of Vampire: The Masquerade – Bloodlines 2, as the game didn’t sell as well as we hoped.

It was clear the sequel wasn’t going to be successful. Critics and players didn’t like it, and Paradox Interactive had already announced a $37 million loss on its development costs last November.

The game hasn’t been a success, but the developers aren’t giving up on it. Even though sales have been poor, they still plan to deliver the support they promised before the game came out.

Bloodlines 2 will receive a major update on February 11th, bringing new cosmetic items, enemy loot, and various bug fixes, as detailed in a recently released roadmap.

Two downloadable content packs are planned for release this year—one in the spring/summer and another in the fall/winter. Each will let you play as a supporting character from the main story, giving you a better understanding of their reasons for acting as they did.

Honestly, it’s unlikely Bloodlines 2 will be revived, but it’s good that Paradox is still delivering the content they promised.

Now that the update is out, are you planning to return to Bloodlines 2? Please keep the comments civil!
