According to the source, the game world features a surprising variety of landscapes – snowy mountains, dense jungles, and vast deserts – all visible from different points. They emphasize that these aren’t separate areas, but rather part of one large, connected map with recognizable landmarks.
This fits with the trailer released last month, which suggested a vast open-world environment. It also supports Crystal Dynamics’ claim that this is the largest game in the series so far.
Look, I’ve been burned by Crystal Dynamics before, so I’m going into Tomb Raider: Catalyst with pretty low expectations, especially since they’re really trying to shake things up.
