Bridgerton’s Claudia Jessie Shares Rare Confession on Her Sex Life

The Bridgerton actress openly shared personal stories, playfully pointing out that her own dating life is quite different from her character Eloise’s. Unlike her on-screen siblings Francesca (Hannah Dodd) and Colin (Luke Newton), who are married by the time the first part of season four was released on January 29th, Eloise hasn’t yet had a romantic storyline on the Netflix show.

Claudia jokingly told the Associated Press in a recent interview with Hannah and Luke, ‘Actually, I’m having more romantic encounters than both of you!’

Claudia’s unexpected confession shocked her fellow actors. At the time, in 2024, she was dating casting director Cole Edwards, and she dramatically declared, “Get that.”

I’m a big fan, and she recently shared something that really struck me. She said she’s 36 and has never been asked to do a sex scene in her career. She joked that it probably means casting directors just don’t see her as someone ‘easily cast in that kind of role,’ which, honestly, is a pretty funny and insightful observation.

I just know Eloise is going to get her moment! It’s coming, guys, I can feel it! She’s the star of the fifth book, To Sir Phillip, With Love, and I’m already counting down the days until we get to see her story unfold. I’ve read the book so many times, and I’m so ready to see those scenes come to life on screen – it’s going to be amazing!

Claudia admitted she felt incredibly nervous, comparing the situation to parachuting from a plane – especially considering the intimate nature of the work and the fact that her mother would be present.

Although Bridgerton is famous for its steamy scenes, filming those intimate moments for the fourth season wasn’t always easy, according to stars Luke Thompson and Yerin Ha.

Luke recently told TopMob News that both he and another person got sick, though at different times. “We kept getting ill,” he explained.

Yerin playfully suggested that she and Luke getting sick meant they were both a little stressed and anxious about filming the intimate scenes, which lowered their immune systems.

Honestly, as a big fan, what really strikes me about those scenes is how naturally they flow from the story. It’s not just about being provocative; those moments feel essential to the characters’ emotions and the plot’s progression. They’re there because they need to be, and that’s what makes them so powerful.

And Luke agreed, adding, “Bridgerton is very good at making the scenes feel actually poetic.” 

He explained that making these moments feel natural, like just another part of the story, is key. When they feel genuine and important, rather than forced or superficial, it makes the whole experience much more enjoyable.
