Magneto vs the Avengers Includes Some Awesome Moments
In Disney+’s new animated special, LEGO Marvel Avengers: Strange Tails, Magneto and his Brotherhood of Mutants clash with the Avengers. The story kicks off with an attack on a museum, and the Avengers quickly arrive to intervene. But they soon realize Magneto’s powerful control over magnetism will make this a difficult fight.
Though the battle features moments designed for fans, like a quick fight between Hulk and Juggernaut, Magneto truly dominates. Jason Alexander’s voice work brings Magneto to life as he easily defeats Iron Man, halts Thor’s hammer in mid-flight, and even snatches the shields from both Captain Americas when they attempt to fight him.
The fight scene features all of Magneto’s greatest comic book moments, amplified by a lot of vehicle-throwing action. It ends with a callback to the iconic arrow-catching scene from the 2012 Avengers movie, but this time Hawkeye arrives to help defeat the villains.

Even though LEGO Marvel Avengers: Strange Tails is a funny, action-packed story aimed at younger viewers, it includes an amazing battle featuring Magneto against the Avengers – pulling together iconic moments from Marvel’s history. The scene is so exciting that it will leave fans hoping to see a similar showdown with Ian McKellen’s Magneto in future Marvel Cinematic Universe movies, especially with his upcoming final performances as the character.
Ian McKellen is set to return as Magneto in the new Avengers: Doomsday film, and he recently appeared in a preview for it. However, the preview showed Magneto seeming unable to fight, leaving Cyclops to face a large group of Sentinels on his own.
