Nintendo Direct Partner Showcase Planned for February 5 – Rumor

Following their recent presentation about Tomodachi Life: Living the Dream, rumors are circulating that Nintendo is planning another Direct presentation next week. Reliable insider NateTheHate reports that this upcoming Direct, expected in early February, will highlight games from third-party developers.

The next Partner Showcase is currently scheduled for February 5th. While details are still under wraps, NateTheHate doesn’t expect announcements for games like Red Dead Redemption 2, as Rockstar Games typically handles its own announcements.

Nintendo’s upcoming showcase will likely reveal new games from other companies coming to the Switch 2. We could also see existing Switch games enhanced to take advantage of the new hardware, such as Overwatch 2. Plus, since The Duskbloods is being developed by FromSoftware, a third-party company, we might learn more about that game during the presentation as well.

In the next few months, the Switch 2 will get several big third-party games. Yakuza Kiwami 3 and Dark Ties and Resident Evil Requiem are coming in February, followed by Pragmata in March and 007: First Light in May. Borderlands 4 and Fallout 4 are also planned for release on the Switch 2, and we may learn the exact dates during an upcoming presentation.

The Switch 2 had a strong start with the release of major games like Star Wars Outlaws and Cyberpunk 2077: Ultimate Edition. So far in 2026, Final Fantasy 7: Remake Intergrade has been released, and Square Enix has announced that ports of Rebirth and the next game in the series are also planned. Nintendo recently highlighted Tomodachi Life: Living the Dream, a new game coming to the Nintendo Switch on April 16th. The game is a sequel to Tomodachi Life (on the 3DS) and Tomodachi Collection (on the DS), and focuses on the same kind of fun, chaotic gameplay. Players create and customize Mii characters who then live and interact with each other in a community on an island.

Your Miis will develop unique personalities as you use them, and the way they sound (through text-to-speech) will influence how those personalities come across. You can also have your Miis participate in fun activities, such as acting in movies and going shopping.

Similar to the Animal Crossing games, Tomodachi Life: Living the Dream lets you heavily customize your island. You can make small changes like adding trees, or even reshape the land to create multiple smaller islands. Players can also rearrange buildings to design their ideal town. Plus, multiple Mii characters can now share a single house! And with the Palette House feature, you can even design the outside of your homes to express your creativity.
