A new Nintendo Direct presentation is expected in February 2026, but there’s a catch that might upset fans. Reports suggest the presentation could happen as early as February 5th, though Nintendo hasn’t officially confirmed it. Surprisingly, instead of showcasing new Nintendo games, the presentation is rumored to focus on content from other companies.
Several sources are reporting that Nintendo’s February 2026 Direct presentation will be a Partner Direct instead of a general Nintendo Direct. The information originally surfaced from GameXplain and was then confirmed by industry insider Nate the Hate and the gaming publication VGC. All three sources agree the presentation is scheduled for February 5th.
And he is correct. Next week’s Direct will be a Partner Direct Showcase.

A Partner Direct is a special type of Nintendo presentation that highlights games from independent developers and third-party companies. Unlike a typical Nintendo Direct, it won’t feature any announcements about games Nintendo is making themselves. So don’t expect to see news about a new Super Mario or Zelda game during this presentation.
Even though this Direct mainly focuses on games made by Nintendo themselves, games published by Nintendo but developed by other companies could still be featured. For example, a game like The Duskbloods, developed by FromSoftware and launching exclusively on the Switch 2, is a likely candidate. We’ve seen this before with titles like Hyrule Warriors: Age of Imprisonment, which was developed by a partner studio despite using characters and settings from The Legend of Zelda. So, if any other similar projects are in the works, we might see them revealed during the Direct.
As of today, Nintendo hasn’t confirmed if a new Direct presentation is planned. They likely won’t share any official news until next week, when we expect to learn the date, time, and duration of the event. As soon as that information is released, we’ll share it with you here on ComicBook.
