New video games are released constantly, so there’s always something to play for anyone who follows the industry with an open mind. That’s especially true in February 2026, which is packed with major and interesting game releases – a great way to kick off the new year. In fact, 2026 is shaping up to be a huge year for gaming, potentially with one of the biggest launches ever. February offers a wide variety of games too, including platformers, horror titles, puzzle games, shooters, and several different kinds of role-playing games.
Here are the 10 most exciting new games coming out in February 2026, ranked.
10) Avowed

preorder AVOWED FOR PS5 at the playstation store
Platforms: PS5 (already on PC and Xbox Series X|S)
Release Date: February 17th
Avowed is now available on PC and Xbox Series X|S, and its release on PlayStation 5 is exciting news. Over the past year, Obsidian Entertainment has been working hard to refine and improve the game, so the PS5 version will be the most polished experience yet. Updates have made combat more engaging and allow players to earn more skill points, giving them greater flexibility in character development. The upcoming anniversary update, launching alongside the PS5 release, will add even more content, including new playable races, gear, and a New Game Plus mode. This will be the most complete version of an already excellent role-playing game.
9) Yakuza Kiwami 3 & Dark Ties

Platforms: PS4, PS5, Xbox Series X|S, Nintendo Switch 2, and PC
Release Date: February 12th
Ryu Ga Gotoku Studio continues to release Yakuza and Like a Dragon games at a rapid pace, and consistently delivers quality titles. Kiwami 3 is a remake of the 2009 game, featuring improved combat, more enjoyable orphanage mini-games, and fixes to some story issues. A new chapter focusing on the popular villain Yoshitaka Mine has also been added. However, leaked story details and the inclusion of a character alleged to be abusive have unfortunately diminished the overall experience.
8) Relooted

Platforms: Xbox Series X|S and PC
Release Date: February 10th
As a huge fan of the Black Panther intro, I was immediately hooked by Relooted! It basically lets you play through that vibe – you’re sneaking into a museum to steal back stolen African artifacts. Okay, it doesn’t have Erik Killmonger’s coolness, but the gameplay is what really shines. You have to carefully plan your heist, solve puzzles to get the artifacts, and then quickly escape once the alarm goes off. It’s a really clever combination of story and how you actually play the game – it all feels connected!
7) Romeo Is a Dead Man

Platforms: PS5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC
Release Date: February 11th
Grasshopper Manufacture is known for creating unusual games, and their upcoming title, Romeo Is a Dead Man, looks to be no different. It’s a unique blend of visual styles – including pixel art, realistic models, animation, and comic book aesthetics – all used to reimagine the story of Romeo and Juliet. In this version, Romeo is a special agent named Dead Man, and Juliet is an otherworldly being. The combat is just as distinctive, with players wielding a variety of weapons and summoning abilities that result in plenty of bloodshed. While it’s unclear if all these strange elements will work together seamlessly, the game is sure to grab attention simply for being so unconventional.
6) Reanimal

Platforms: PS5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC
Release Date: February 13th
Developed by Tarsier Studios, the creators of Little Nightmares, Reanimal shares a lot of similarities with their previous hit. It features the same distinctive camera angles, unsettling atmosphere, and gameplay focused on solving puzzles and navigating platforms. While it’s visually striking, it’s yet to be seen if Reanimal will fully develop a unique identity of its own. Despite this, its captivating style and unusual name make it a game worth watching.
5) Nioh 3

Platforms: PS5 and PC
Release Date: February 6th
The original Nioh was a fantastic action game inspired by the Souls series, and Nioh 2 made significant improvements, becoming even more challenging and satisfying. Nioh 3 aims to build on that success by offering a more open-world experience with larger levels for players to explore. A key new feature is the ability to instantly switch between Samurai and Ninja combat styles mid-battle, adding a lot of flexibility to how you play. While it still visually resembles Team Ninja’s other games, which might not be a huge leap forward, even a well-made Team Ninja game is a great experience.
4) Dragon Quest VII Reimagined

Platforms: PS5, Xbox Series X|S, Nintendo Switch 2, and PC
Release Date: February 5th
Dragon Quest VII Reimagined is the second updated version of the original PlayStation game, but it’s much more than just a simple update. This remake completely changes the game’s look, keeping the famous art style of Akira Toriyama but giving it a charming, hand-crafted feel – almost like playing with dioramas and dolls. The story and beginning have also been reworked to improve the flow of the game. Features like auto-battling and the ability to change your character’s class make the game even smoother and more accessible, potentially bringing this classic RPG to a wider audience.
3) High On Life 2

Platforms: PS5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC (will launch on Game Pass)
Release Date: February 13th
The original High on Life was a fun and lighthearted shooter, and the upcoming High on Life 2 seems to be continuing that tradition. Like the first game, it features strange, talking guns voiced by well-known comedians and plenty of quirky humor. This time around, players can also use a skateboard to get around the game’s unusual environments – a welcome addition that should make exploration even more enjoyable. Plus, the sequel won’t include the voice work of Justin Roiland, which many players found irritating.
2) Crisol: Theater of Idols

Platforms: PS5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC
Release Date: February 10th
Crisol: Theater of Idols boasts a unique visual style. This first-person shooter shares similarities with BioShock, but is set in a distinct, Spain-influenced world with strong religious undertones. The guns have a gruesome twist – they require the player’s own blood to reload, creating some particularly graphic animations. It’s still unclear whether the game will lean more towards horror or action, but it’s shaping up to be an interesting combination of both.
1) Resident Evil Requiem

Platforms: PS5, Xbox Series X|S, Nintendo Switch 2, and PC
Release Date: February 27th
Resident Evil Requiem is shaping up to be a major game release this year. While any new Resident Evil title automatically generates excitement, this one looks particularly promising thanks to its unique approach with two playable characters. The sections featuring Grace Ashcroft focus on building suspense and drawing inspiration from classic Resident Evil games like the original, Resident Evil 2, and Resident Evil 7. In contrast, the sections with Leon Kennedy emphasize fast-paced action, similar to Resident Evil 4. The series has sometimes struggled to effectively combine action and horror – Resident Evil 6 is a prime example – but Requiem appears to be finding the right balance, with fluid combat for Leon and truly terrifying creatures pursuing Grace.
