Lily Collins is showering her dad Phil Collins with love.
Following a heartfelt health update from Phil Collins—the former lead singer of Genesis who stopped performing in 2022—Ashley Park, known for her role in Emily in Paris, shared a touching birthday message for him.
Lily, 36, shared on Instagram that she celebrated her father’s 75th birthday yesterday and expressed her gratitude. She thanked him for his achievements, the happiness he’s brought to others over the years, the lessons he’s taught, and all the memories they’ve made together – and looks forward to many more.
Lily recently posted a cute photo of herself with her dad, Phil Collins, whom he shares with his ex-wife, Jill Tavelman. She also shared an old, sweet picture of Phil holding her as a baby. Lily expressed how much she cherishes making memories with her 75-year-old father, both then and now.
She said she felt incredibly fortunate to have shared hugs, laughter, and memories with them on such an important day. She expressed that ‘proud’ didn’t even begin to describe how she felt, and finished with a loving ‘I love you so much!’
These heartfelt remarks follow Phil Collins’ recent public disclosure about kidney problems caused by his history with alcohol. Collins shares four children: Nic and Matthew with his wife, Orianne Cevey, and Joely and Simon with his former partner, Andrea Bertorelli.
Phil shared on the BBC podcast Eras that he likely damaged his kidneys from drinking too much. He explained to The Daily Mail that he didn’t stay up all night drinking, but he consumed alcohol throughout the day and thinks he overdid it.

The singer of “That’s All” explained that while he wasn’t intoxicated, he did stumble a couple of times. He described it as an unfortunate incident that led to a months-long hospital stay.
This isn’t the first time concerns about Phil’s health have been public. Last July, reports of joint pain led to rumors he was in hospice, but his team quickly clarified he was actually recovering from knee surgery.
Oh my gosh, you wouldn’t BELIEVE what he’s been through! He was telling it on the podcast, and it was just… heartbreaking. He said everything possible went wrong with him, seriously! Five knee surgeries! Five! And now, he finally has a knee that works, thank goodness, but he still needs crutches to get around. It’s amazing he’s even walking, honestly. I’m just so proud of him for fighting through it all!

After suffering a spinal injury during his band’s final tour in 2007, Phil developed significant nerve damage in his hands. This painful condition ultimately led to his difficult decision to stop drumming.
In his 2024 documentary, Phil Collins: Drummer First, Phil Collins explained that he’d prefer to retire rather than perform if he couldn’t maintain his previous skill level. He said he might play again if he felt physically capable, but feels he’s already done all he can in his career.

Nikki Bella, known from Total Bellas, shared that one of her breast implants moved after being hit in the chest during a wrestling match with Piper Niven in July 2025.
She reassured her sister, Bella Garcia, that she would get the issue resolved eventually. She explained to the doctor that as soon as she retired from her current work, she’d return to address the problem and ensure everything looked its best, because she anticipated future use and didn’t want it to appear neglected.

Lupita Nyong’o, known for her role in 12 Years a Slave, received a diagnosis of uterine fibroids—non-cancerous growths in or around the uterus—in 2014, the same year she won an Academy Award for her performance in the film.
She didn’t reveal her diagnosis until 2025, sharing on Instagram that she had been privately struggling with it for over ten years.
She explained that many girls are taught to accept period pain as a normal part of being a woman, leading to a lot of silent suffering. It’s something that impacts so many of us, yet we often deal with it on our own.

In July 2025, the actress from Daisy Jones & The Six revealed she’d been hospitalized for a hernia. This happened because she’d been wearing pants that were too tight, which caused a gap in her abdominal muscles.
Someone messaged Suki on X (formerly Twitter) asking why she hadn’t been tweeting. Suki replied, jokingly suggesting she hadn’t tweeted because she’d injured herself six months ago by wearing very tight pants and had been afraid to mention it.

The former star of Beverly Hills, 90210 shared in April 2025 that he was recovering from surgery to fix a nearly ruptured appendix.
Brian shared in an Instagram video that he recently experienced stomach pain which led him to the emergency room. He explained that his appendix had a hole in it – it hadn’t fully burst, but was very close to doing so.
He added, “I’m on the road to recovery. It’s not an easy process. This is my first major surgery.”

As a lifestyle expert, I was so saddened to hear about the Racing Louisville midfielder who unexpectedly collapsed during her team’s game against Seattle Reign on September 14th. It happened very early in the match, while they were playing at Lumen Field in Seattle, and it was a really frightening moment for everyone involved.
As a lifestyle and wellness observer, I was really concerned to see one of the US Women’s National Team players go down during a game. Reports from Reuters showed her slowly sitting down with a teammate for support, and then, unfortunately, she collapsed just moments later. It was clear medical staff needed to immediately assess the situation.
After receiving immediate medical attention on the field, Savannah was taken to a nearby hospital for more tests, according to a statement from the National Women’s Soccer League. They reported that she is currently in stable condition and is alert.

Adam Devine revealed that injuries from being hit by a cement truck at age 11 still cause him problems now.
“It’s been incredibly difficult,” Devine shared on the In Depth With Graham Bensinger podcast in 2025. “I experience spasms all over my body, and doctors recently told me I was facing a life-threatening situation—within the past year, actually.”
He acknowledged that his pain is intermittent, explaining that his body has some minor imperfections and isn’t quite working as it should.

He described a strange tingling sensation that reached from his knees to his toes during a March 2025 episode of his podcast, Trading Secrets. He explained that just a few weeks prior, he’d been squatting nearly 300 pounds, but now he couldn’t even do a single squat or stand on one foot without falling. He compared the feeling to having a stroke.
But with the help of a back specialist and some steroids, he added, “We’re on the mend.”

As a lifestyle expert, I’m always mindful of life’s unexpected turns, and recently I learned some difficult news regarding Gina Kirschenheiter from The Real Housewives of Orange County. Her ex-husband, Matt, experienced a heart attack back in March of 2025, which was understandably frightening for everyone involved. Thankfully, he pulled through and is recovering.

In March 2025, the actor from 30 Rock experienced a medical issue at a New York Knicks game and had to be taken out of Madison Square Garden in a wheelchair.
The comedian later posted on social media to explain that he hadn’t been feeling well due to food poisoning, but he was starting to recover.

I was so shocked to hear that Shiri Appleby, who I loved on Even Stevens, was shot in the face! Apparently, it happened while she was on a fun outing with her husband, Brendan Rooney, to celebrate his birthday – they were out shooting clay pigeons. It’s just unbelievable, and I’m so glad she’s okay.
According to her Instagram post, she was accidentally shot in the face by someone at a party who fired a weapon unsafely. She said @thebrendanrooney quickly helped her and took her to the hospital. She was hit five times, and one bullet narrowly missed her right eye, coming within an inch of a direct hit.
The former Kim Possible star explained that a small piece of something got stuck behind her eye. Doctors have advised against removing it with surgery right now, and they’ll continue to watch her condition, as her vision is currently normal.
The actress expressed immense gratitude for surviving a frightening experience. She shared how much she cherishes her daughters, husband, family, and friends, explaining that she realized how precious life is. She urged everyone to hug their loved ones often, because things can change so quickly.

I’m such a fan of Amy Schumer, and I was so impressed by how she handled this whole situation! It’s amazing how the internet, which can often be harsh, actually helped her figure out what was going on with her health. She was doing press and noticed people commenting on her face looking “puffy,” and honestly, she just asked everyone to calm down. But then, doctors actually started leaving comments, pointing out that something might be medically wrong! Can you believe it? She was getting trolled by doctors! Apparently, they thought she might have Cushing syndrome, possibly from high cortisol levels or steroid injections. That’s when it clicked for her – she’d had a breast reduction and a C-section and had been getting steroid injections for her scars. She realized the internet’s “attack” actually led her to a diagnosis she wouldn’t have gotten otherwise. Now, she’s just so grateful that it’s a type of Cushing syndrome that will resolve on its own, and she’s healthy. It’s such a relief to hear, and I’m so happy for her that the internet ultimately led to such great news!

In December 2024, an AHL player suffered a skate cut during a game and needed 25 stitches to close the wound. After his son made a full recovery, New Jersey Devils General Manager Tom Fitzgerald told ESPN how relieved they were, saying, “We feel very lucky, and I wouldn’t want any parent to go through that.”

In March 2022, Hailey Bieber experienced a frightening health scare while having breakfast with her husband, Justin. She suddenly began to have stroke-like symptoms, struggling to speak and noticing her face drooping. Although the symptoms eventually passed, she went to the hospital for testing. Doctors discovered she had a small blood clot in her brain, which they identified as a TIA (Transient Ischemic Attack). Further investigation at UCLA revealed Hailey had a hole in her heart called a patent foramen ovale (PFO). This hole allowed the blood clot to travel to her brain, causing the TIA. Hailey successfully underwent a procedure to close the PFO and is now recovering well.

The same year Hailey faced a health issue, Justin also experienced one. In June 2022, he revealed he had been diagnosed with Ramsay Hunt syndrome, a condition that caused temporary paralysis on one side of his face. This forced him to cancel the rest of his Justice World Tour.
In a video posted to Instagram, Justin explained the virus affected the nerves in his ear and face, preventing him from blinking, smiling, or moving his nostril on the affected side, resulting in full paralysis. He also shared that it had become increasingly difficult for him to eat.
Fortunately, the paralysis eventually went away. Hailey shared on Good Morning America that Justin was recovering well, adding that while the situation was frightening and unexpected, he was going to be completely fine and she was grateful he was on the mend.

Jamie Foxx recently shared details about the health scare he experienced in April 2023, which he had initially kept private. In his 2024 Netflix special, What Had Happened Was…, he explained that he was suffering from a severe headache when he suddenly lost consciousness. He doesn’t remember the next 20 days.
Initially, a doctor gave him a cortisone shot and sent him home, but his sister, Deidra Dixon, was worried and took him to the hospital. There, they discovered he’d had a brain bleed that caused a stroke.
After surgery, Jamie woke up in a wheelchair on May 4th, unable to walk. He then traveled to Chicago for rehabilitation and therapy. He expressed his gratitude for all the prayers he received, saying he needed every single one.

The reality TV star shared that she briefly stopped breathing while running in the first challenge of the NBC competition show, describing the experience as feeling like ‘dying’.
She shared on the show Fit for TV: The Reality of The Biggest Loser that her memory of the event was fragmented. She recalled hearing a helicopter, feeling like she was floating, and then seeing her grandfather. After that, she remembered only darkness, followed by light, leading her to realize she had died that day.
She explained that her organs were failing. She hadn’t known she had rhabdomyolysis, a condition where your body essentially begins to shut down.

Emilia Clarke, known for her role in Game of Thrones, revealed a harrowing health battle in a 2019 essay for The New Yorker. While filming the series, she experienced a sudden, severe headache while at the gym. She described collapsing and being violently ill, realizing something was seriously wrong with her brain.
After being taken to the hospital, doctors diagnosed her with a subarachnoid hemorrhage – a life-threatening stroke caused by bleeding around the brain. She had suffered an aneurysm, a rupture in an artery.
Clarke underwent immediate surgery to repair the aneurysm, but the pain was excruciating. During her recovery, she experienced aphasia, struggling to communicate and speaking nonsense. Fortunately, the aphasia passed after a week, and she was discharged from the hospital a month later.
However, a 2013 brain scan revealed the aneurysm had doubled in size, requiring a second surgery. This procedure initially failed, leading to a massive bleed. Doctors warned her that another operation – accessing her brain directly through her skull – was her only chance of survival.
Thankfully, Emilia Clarke is now fully recovered and says she is “at a hundred per cent.”

As a lifestyle expert, I’m always inspired by stories of resilience, and Cori Broadus, Snoop Dogg’s daughter, is a perfect example. She recently shared her health journey with me, and it’s truly moving. Back in January 2024, Cori experienced a severe stroke, and she immediately reached out to her family. She told me everyone rushed to be there for her, which meant the world. Her hospital stay ended up being longer than expected, though, as she was also dealing with lupus and kidney issues on top of recovering from the stroke. Thankfully, Cori is now doing really well! She says she’s focused on regaining some motor skills, but overall, she’s feeling fantastic. It’s a beautiful reminder of the importance of family and taking care of your health.

Shailene Woodley struggled with serious health issues throughout her 20s. In a September 2024 podcast interview, she described losing her hearing, being unable to walk for more than five minutes without needing to rest for hours, and experiencing constant stomach pain. She faced a confusing array of diagnoses from different doctors.
Determined to find answers, Woodley, who has kept the specifics of her condition private, combined traditional medical care with holistic and herbal remedies. This search for well-being lasted for ten years.
She explained that the physical discomfort led to deeper issues, including fear of food and struggles with body image, identity, and feeling comfortable in her own body.
Fortunately, Woodley has since recovered and is now very healthy. She expressed her happiness at having resolved the issues and regained her health.
