You Can Now Read a Ton of One Piece for Free

Now is a great time to start reading or watching One Piece! The entire manga series is legally available to read for free, and there’s a lot coming for fans in 2026. Expect a new story arc in the anime, plus spinoffs and the return of the live-action series on Netflix. The original manga is also still being released weekly.

I’m so excited! Viz Media is starting the year off right for One Piece fans like me! While we’re all waiting for more to come this Spring, they’ve made it incredibly easy to get into the manga. They’ve released the first 108 chapters – that’s the first 12 volumes! – for free on their digital Shonen Jump. Honestly, if you’ve been thinking about starting One Piece, now is the perfect time!

Viz Media hasn’t said how long fans can read these One Piece chapters for free, but it probably won’t be for very long, so it’s best to start reading soon. They’ve also removed the daily chapter limit on their digital Shonen Jump, meaning you can finish these 12 volumes—which cover the important East Blue saga and some extra content—in a weekend.

With Season 2 of Netflix’s live-action One Piece arriving later this March, these events are particularly significant. One Piece: Into the Grand Line is set to premiere on Netflix on March 10th, continuing the story from the East Blue saga and showing Luffy and the Straw Hat crew beginning their journey into the famous Grand Line. This new season will also introduce a fresh set of characters – both friends and enemies.

What’s Next for One Piece?

Get ready for more One Piece! Netflix’s live-action series is coming back for a second season in March, and they’ve already started working on a third! This season will finish the Alabasta storyline, according to the series creator, Eiichiro Oda. Meanwhile, the anime will begin adapting the Elbaph arc on April 5th as part of a new release schedule for Spring 2026.

The anime series One Piece will switch to releasing new episodes seasonally, with 26 episodes planned each year starting this April. This change will allow the anime to better match the pace of the story as created by author Eiichiro Oda, and viewers can expect to see this difference when the series returns later in the year.
