The movie Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba Infinity Castle will stay in theaters for a longer run, which means fans will have to wait even longer for it to become available for streaming. The film has been incredibly successful in theaters since the first movie in the new trilogy premiered last year. Because of its continued strong performance at the box office, Sony Pictures Entertainment and ufotable have decided to keep it exclusively in cinemas.
I’ve been watching as Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba Infinity Castle continues its impressive run in theaters. Originally released with a theatrical exclusivity planned through 2025, it’s back in Japanese cinemas this February! Not only that, but they’re releasing a brand new IMAX version. And it looks like it’s going to stay in theaters for even longer now, with updated versions including Screen X and Ultra 4DX scheduled to debut on February 20th.
Demon Slayer: Infinity Castle to Continue Run in Theaters
The latest Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba movie, Infinity Castle, is getting unique releases in Japan with both Screen X and Ultra 4DX versions debuting on February 20th. Because of these special theatrical releases, and a previous IMAX release earlier in February, the Blu-ray or digital version of the film won’t be available in Japan until at least March. The movie will likely stay in theaters until its run is complete before being released for home viewing.
The continued theatrical run of Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba Infinity Castle in Japan is delaying its release on Blu-ray and digital platforms, not just there, but also in North America. Fans eager to watch the movie on streaming services like Crunchyroll will unfortunately have to wait even longer, and it’s especially frustrating that the film will only be shown in Japanese theaters.
Demon Slayer: Infinity Castle Might Get Promising Update Soon
Even though Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba Infinity Castle is currently only available in theaters, fans may soon hear some exciting news. The film will be featured at AnimeJapan 2026 this Spring, where Aniplex plans to showcase a variety of upcoming anime projects. The event will be held on March 28th and 29th.
We don’t yet know if there will be any news for fans, but any updates regarding the streaming release or the next Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba Infinity Castle movie would be significant. Since the current film is still performing well in cinemas, there’s no rush to announce plans for the future right now.
