With so many anticipated games coming from major publishers this year, Nioh 3 from Team Ninja could be a surprising standout title. It’s impressing players with its engaging combat, expansive levels, and fresh gameplay features. And if you don’t have a PS5 or PC, there’s a good chance it will be available on other consoles before long.
The latest trailer for the PlayStation 5 game specifically states it won’t be released on other consoles—like Xbox Series X/S or Nintendo Switch 2—for at least six months after February 6, 2026. This suggests it could be available on those platforms before the end of 2026.
It’s important to remember that this is just a possibility. Fans of Nioh 1 and Nioh 2 will recall those games were never released on anything other than PlayStation. Similarly, Rise of the Ronin didn’t arrive on PC until a year after its PlayStation 5 release. While Team Ninja has tried releasing games on multiple platforms, like Wo Long: Fallen Dynasty and Ninja Gaiden 4, their history shows a preference for PlayStation 5 and PC.
Considering that publishers like Square Enix are now releasing games on multiple platforms – even titles that were once exclusive, like the Final Fantasy 7 Remake series – it’s possible that Nioh 3 will also see a shift in approach. Team Ninja might even decide to wait until next year and release a Complete Edition that includes all downloadable content.
While you wait, you can find all the details about Nioh 3 here. A free demo is available now on both PlayStation 5 and PC, letting you play for hours and even team up with a friend. Plus, any progress you make in the demo will transfer over to the full game!
